About this Cook
58 yr. old grandmother of 10 (going on 11!). Have worked all aspects of the restaurant business off and on for 42 years. I currently work a multitude of odd jobs, including housekeeping, painting, dog grooming and caring for a clients' goats. I seems like I babysit a lot as well! It's all good.
My favorite things to cook
Lasagna and various breads, both yeast and fruit and nut quick breads.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Canning, scalloped oysters, roast turkey w/ sausage stuffing, salsas... The list goes on and on.
My cooking triumphs
I especially enjoy dinners and often outdo myself with experiments!
My cooking tragedies
I'm lousy at pancakes and candies.

Rae's Italian BS Pasta Salad
I loved it but changed a few things the second time I made it. I tossed the warm pasta with a couple Tablespoons of Bacon grease, used arugula instead of spinach, omitted the creamy dressing and added some fresh cilantro. Big hit both times.

Ramen Coleslaw
I've been using this type of recipe for years, but I've never used the sesame seeds. There was more (olive)oil than (red wine) vinegar and I usually added apples. Ramen noodles were added just before serving, although I've always liked them soggy the next day. I like it best with the Oriental Ramen.
