Okay, I confess. After years of following this recipe, I found myself with an extra container of sour cream and I did the unthinkable--I attempted a different (and quite popular) banana bread recipe from this site...and I am so sorry that I did. Never again will I veer from the wonderful brown sugar/banana banana flavor in this recipe. It is perfect and I am so sorry that I cheated. It was a one-time thing. It meant nothing. Won't ever happen again--EVER. :-) Thank you for the best banana bread recipe I've ever known. One tip--peel and freeze ripe or overly ripe (or large pieces that your kids decided after one bite not to finish!) bananas in a zippered bag. When preparing to make your banana bread, thaw them out in a bowl on your counter-top. Oh yes...they will look disgusting; oh yes....it may seem like the grossest thing you have ever cooked with, BUT the flavor is TREMENDOUS and they are ridiculously easy to mix into your batter--no mashing required! Thank you for this recipe--it's THE ONE!
