About this Cook
I started cooking after getting married. My husband insisted I look into some cookbooks after serving up some horrible meals. I am about ready to graduate from college and move into a new home where I am super excited to entertain. I never knew I would enjoy cooking so much! I now am that woman that people look for her food at parties :)
My favorite things to cook
I like cooking down home meals, meals that you grew up with but my own spin on them with different spices and i try to take things and make them just a little healthier. I just started expermenting with desserts!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother and father always made down home good for the soul foods. In large batches too!! I took that with me and now it is just me and my husband and I cook for an army. It's okay- I Love leftovers
My cooking triumphs
I have had so many firsts over the past couple of years. This Thanksgiving I made desserts for the first time and they were a hit. My favorite though is when i make something and my husband says "that's the best I have ever eaten."
My cooking tragedies
The first pot of chili I made. My first curry. My first roast which was a bloody mess.

Chicken Stew with Dumplings
This stew is delicious. The only thing I change is adding more veggies, like frozen corn or carrots.
