Guided by comments from previous reviewers, I "tweaked" the recipe as follows: Used a half-teaspoon of cayenne; Did not drain the tomatoes; Shortened the Low temperature cooking time to 7 hours; With 30 minutes left to cook added white instant rice to soak up some of the soupiness.
The resulting dish was wonderful. Still slightly soupy, but very good. Even with cutting back on the cayenne the dish was still very spicy.
I will definitely make this again, but next time will use only a quarter teaspoon of hte cayenne and will shorten the Low temperature cooking time even more to only 6 1/2 hours in total.
