Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2003
This is THE BEST! I am seriously confused over the (very few) negative reviews. This recipe has now replaced my mom's 25 yr old banana bread. This stuff is awesome. I am still getting compliments from friends who tried this at out annual bake sale! I make 3 mini loaves and cut back on baking time. My alterations: add 1 tsp vanilla, 1tsp. cinnamon to the mix. I also make a topping with 2 tbsp. brown sugar, 2 tbsp. melted butter and a pinch of cinnamon. I pour this on top before baking, throw on a handful of chopped pecans and swirl it into the top. It makes it beautiful and gives a tasty nut crunch topping. GOOD LUCK!

Soft Christmas Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2003
These were good. I plan on using this recipe for the holidays. Although, I will only chill for an hour. If you chill longer, let it sit out for awhile to soften. The dough was very dense and hard to roll out at first. By the time I was doing my last sheet...it was perfect. The cookies were very good.

Delilah's Frosted Cut-Out Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2003
My 5 starts are for the frosting. I did not use the cookie recipe but I needed a frosting that would just glaze, then set up nicely. This did both and tasted yummy too! If I try the cookies I'll let you know but the frosting gets 5 stars! Thanks!

Kathy's Roast and Vegetables

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2003
This was VERY good. I only have a small crock so I bought a 2.5 lb roast and followed the rest exactly. It was super good. Like the others have mentioned...the gravy it makes is awesome. Good Luck.

Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2003
This was DELISH! The guys gobbled this up FAST. Hubby was looking for the leftovers later that night and was so sad to find...NO LEFTOVERS! My brothers happened to stop over (and eat) so did my dad who is picky about his chili. He said it was superb! Very easy to pull together. Easy chili with great results. A+

Absolutely the Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2004
These are incredible. A Few notes: If you like CHEWY cookies with a nice crisp edge (divine) you MUST tupperware or zip-lock these cookies AS SOON AS THEY ARE COOL. Do not leave these out and do not use a cookie jar unless it is air-tight. You will have the soft chewy cookie you are looking for. Also, I scaled this to double and it still turned out great. They keep demanding more! Good luck and ENJOY!

World's Best Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2004
AWESOME soup! I followed a few suggestions from the reviews and had the BEST soup the other night! This will become a regular for us. I suteed the onion & celery with mushrooms, salt, pepper, thyme, & parsley in butter. This smelled wonderful. I followed the rest of the recipe exactly. This made enough soup to fill my 6 qt roaster to the TOP! So start with a LARGE pot. A+ recipe.

AWESOME meatloaf! I wouldnt change a thing! We like to use the mini loaf pan (8 tiny shaped loaves on one pan -from WalMart). This makes 8 "mini" loaves...and you get more of thoes outside pieces that are OH SO GOOD! LOVE this meatloaf...it is now one of our regulars. A++ recipe.

Fruit Pizza

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2004
YUMMY! This was the best "sauce" for a fruit pizza. The marshmallow creme and cream cheese is an excellent combo! I used a variety of berries and grapes plus kiwi fruit. It was yummy AND beautiful! My only change to the recipe is that I used 2 tubes of sugar cookie dough to make it a bif puffier. The cream cheese mixture goes a long way so no need to make any additions to that. But this was a great fruit pizza for a summer potluck! THANKS!

Crispy and Creamy Doughnuts

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2006
WOW. This was FUN and they came out GREAT! The only thing I would do next time is to make sure my glaze is VERY thin. I didn't do that at first and some were too sweet and I ran out of glaze before I caught on and kept it thin, and then they turned out PERFECT. I will also have my sister over next time to do this a little easier. I was running from the frier to the glaze and back, it was fast-moving messy work, and afterward it looked like a bomb went off in the kitchen. But worth it. I will know next time what I am in for and be a little more prepared. Thanks for an excellent doughnut recipe!

Molasses Cookies VI

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2006
These were YUMMY! But take them out before they are crisp. The flavor comes through better when they are soft. I know some gingerbread-like cookies are often flavorless cardboard. But these were REALLY good. I added 1 tsp vanilla, and next time will increase the brown sugar to a whole cup....for a few people who wanted them sweeter. We used little man cutters. We made buttercream frosting and piped on faces and buttons. It was alot of fun and they are GREAT flavorful cookies! I will be using this recipe again at Christmastime for sure!

Tater Tot Hot Dish II

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2007
This was VERY good. I made a few additions myself. Along with everything called for here, I added a can of cheddar cheese soup and a tsp. garlic powder. I also mixed in 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese. I found it easier to throw all ingredients into a large mixing bowl, brown and drain the beef and onion, add to the mixing bowl and toss everything well. Then transfer to the baking dish. I took this out to stir every 15 minutes because my tater tots were not completely thawed. This helped, as well as helped the tots to crumble a bit and mix well with everything else. I liked that effect. For the last 15 minutes I topped with more shredded cheese and the french fried onions. This was AWESOME! A+

Taco Lasagna

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2008
This was so easy and super good. The kids loved it too. I did a layer of chili without beans in the center and it added alot of flavor. I use 1.5 taco seasoning packets and dry onion, dry garlic. Was excellent and will definately make again and again. The guys like it served with tortilla chips. While the dish bakes, you can make your own with the remaining corn tortillas. Cut into triangles with a pizza cutter and fry in hot oil until crisp. Flavor lightly with season salt while still hot and it's a great way to serve this dish for company or potluck.
