Beef Potato House Pie Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2003
My fiance said "excellent" after his first bite. After that, he said, "It's missing something, though." We really like spicey food, so we had to add some spice to it, and next time we'll probably add some Creole seasoning in the meat. I also took some other raters' advice and added mushroom soup to the ground beef...I can see how it would have been dry otherwise. This was an easy meal to make (as I am NOT a great cook), and I will definately make it again.

Hot Artichoke and Spinach Dip II

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2004
I made this appetizer for a superbowl party....everyone LOVED it! Mind you, I'm NOT a cook. It was excessively easy and tasted phenomenal! Everyone loved it.

Shrimp Scampi

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2004
I was actually a bit disappointed in this recipe. It was very simple, yet a bit tasteless. As all of the other ratings suggest....much needs to be added or taken away from this recipe...I think I'll try it again, but I will take some advice from other users.

Artichoke Spinach Lasagna

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2004
FANTASTIC! Even my fiance who is big on meat sauces loved this one. I made a mistake, though, by adding additional sauce AND water to cook the noodles (as suggested by other viewers). It was WAY too soupy, so next time I will omit the water and just put in extra sauce. While it didn't look too appetizing (because of MY mistake) it tasted absolutely delicious!

Cola Pot Roast II

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2004
This was an extremely tasty roast, and my fiance and I just loved it. I made it in the crock pot and ended up overcooking it, so it was a bit dry. But, the flavors are absolutely wonderful! Will definitely make again.

Cousin Cosmo's Greek Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2004
This recipe was delicious and light with just enough of a heavy flavor (the cheese) to balance it out. I will definitely make this again.

Simple BBQ Ribs

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2004
My fiance first said, "These smell really good." Then he took a bite and said, "Yum, these are delicious." Then, he took another bite and said, "These are MORE than delicious...they're kick a**!" Needless to say they were a hit, and I will make these over and over again, especially when the weather doesn't permit grilling them outside. I used mesquite bbq sauce and added chili sauce as well as cayenne pepper to it. Delicious! And SO EASY! Who knew?

Roast Chicken with Rosemary

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2004
This chicken smelled so delicious as it was baking in the oven.....that was the extent of the word delicious. It was extremely dry and totally flavorless. I am truly disappointed after reading all of the positive reviews. Won't make it again.

Spicy Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2004
These cookies are delicious with the banana in them. While I liked that added flavor, I still like my oatmeal cookies to taste like oatmeal cookies; not mini banana bread slices. They were very tasty and moist, though.

Swedish Meatballs I

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2004
This is a GREAT recipe, but I could tell it would be a little bland for my husband and I. So, I added paprika to the meatballs and italian seasoning to the sauce. Also, I didn't have cream of wheat on hand, but old fashioned bread crumbs worked just as well.

Swedish Meatballs

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2007
I loved the meatballs, but the sauce left much to be desired. I realize the sauce was supposed to have a subtle flavor, but it was just plain bland. In a household that loves LOTS of flavor, it just didn't work. So, I did some sprucing up...added all kinds of seasonings (can't remember them all)....and it turned out pretty good. Once again, though, the meatballs were delicious...though I added additional bread crumbs, because they seemed TOO gummy.

Hearty Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2008
At first my husband didn't want to add the barley, but when he did, he realized it added a wonderful texture to the soup. We like extreme flavors, so he added a lot of extra seasoning. All in all, a great soup.

Good Dog Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2008
According to the behavior of the dogs, these cookies were FANTASTIC! We left them on the counter by mistake one day, and came home to find the bag ripped to shreds and all of the cookies gone. That's a lab for you! But, I didn't worry, because I knew they were nutritionally sound and the dog would be fine. :)

Amazingly Easy Irish Soda Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2008
For traditional Irish soda bread, I would've given this recipe one star.....but for the recipe that it is, I'm giving it four stars. It is fantastic!!! The other ratings are right: This tastes like a giant biscuit. But, it REALLY tastes great! I added 2 more tablespoons of sugar, and I sprinkled a little more sugar on top after each basting as other ratings suggested. My husband LOVES Irish soda bread and said, "It's not what I'm used to, but it's tasty." So....we had biscuit slices with our corned beef and cabbage. :)

Corned Beef and Cabbage II

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2008
Excellent, excellent, excellent! I only cooked a 2lb briskett, and 2 hours was perfect. I also used a roasting bag, but I'm sure the foil works well, too. This was very tasty and tender....good stuff!
