Lemon Macaroon Tartlets

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2003
A nice fresh tasting summertime treat. To get a more intense lemon flavor I added lemon zest (the yellow peel from a fresh lemon)to the pudding mixture and topped the Cool Whip with coconut and lemon zest for added taste and presentation.

Lemon Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2003
I can't even count how many times I've made this cake! It's always a hit and I'm always asked for the recipe. It's an extremely moist, flavorful cake and it smells amazing when it's cooking. I add some lemon zest (yellow peel from a fresh lemon) to the glaze for a little extra kick and presentation. Thank you for sharing this Phyllis!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2003
Good cookies! I made these, brought them to work and was asked a number of times for the recipe, that always tells me it's a keeper. I added crushed / broken Skor bar to half the batch (didn't want to ruin the whole batch if it didn't turn out) and I liked the addition.

The Best Marinade Around

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2003
I like this recipe, I use it a couple of times a month to tenderize tougher cuts of steak. I use it more for that purpose then for flavor, although I like the flavor.

Swiss Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2003
I love this recipe! I've made it many times but I've used cream of mushroom soup instead of chicken and top with either crushed Ritz crackers as another reviewer suggested or soda crackers. Thanks for sharing this quick, simple, easy yet tasty recipe Pamela.

Holiday Mini Kisses Treasure Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2003
I took these to work and everyone loved them! I was able to buy the candy-coated chocolate at a bulk food store. I added broken Skor (Heath in the U.S.) bar, halved the amount of candy bits and added mini chocolate chips, along with the 'regular' chocolate chips. A tasty and easy recipe!

Maple Glazed Walnut Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2003
I made these brownies using a brownie mix and used pure maple syrup in the frosting (I wasn't sure what 'maple flavoring' meant). They tasted good that night but the next day you couldn't taste the maple syrup, so just to clarify, I think maple 'extract' should be used. Nice frosting and combination with the brownie though!

Butterscotch Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2004
I've made a variation of this cake before where I spread a can of condensed milk over the cooled (poked) cake and then topped that with butterscotch sauce and Skor (or Heath) chipits. I think it made for a moister cake. I also topped the cake with Skor and milk chocolate chips. An easy and yummy recipe.

Famous Coconut-Almond Balls

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2004
I really enjoyed this recipe. I made it for work and got rave reviews. The only modifications I made included setting the almond on top of the ball and then spooning the chocolate over it so it's more like the famous bar. I also used milk chocolate as that's my preference and I added a few drops of almond extract flavoring. Will make this again!

I prefer this recipe with crushed Corn Flakes or Frosted Flakes. Nice little treat.

Yummy Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2005
I marinate porkchops and chicken breasts in italian dressing (minus the soy sauce) all the time and I really enjoy them. Combine this marinade with meat in a ziplock or plastic bag and refrigerate all day or for a few hours - the marinated meat is delicious cooked on the barbeque!

Chocolate Poke Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2005
I make a similar version of this cake but I use a chocolate cake mix for the cake, top the poked hole cake with butterscotch (caramel) sauce (and sometimes sweetened condensed milk in addition to the butterscotch sauce), sprinkle it with Heath / Skor bits, and top the cooled cake with Cool Whip.

Broccoli Salad II

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2005
I make broccoli salad often and I love it, I would suggest adding 1/3 cup of white sugar to the dressing to counterbalance the vinegar. I also substituted shredded cheddar cheese for the carrots and I think it taste best when made the night before as it softens the broccoli slightly and the flavors blend. Be sure to toss salad again before serving.

Pistachio Nut Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2005
I made this cake for St. Patrick's Day. It didn't make sense to me to use a yellow cake mix with green pudding and expect it to come out green so I used a white cake mix and it turned out a nice shade of green. I love icing so I iced the cake with a tub of ready-made buttercream frosting. Thanks for sharing this recipe - I love bundt cakes and this is perfect for the occasion!

Chocolate Covered Potato Chips

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2005
I really liked the idea around this recipe - I've always loved chocolate and chips so this was a perfect union in my eyes! The only change I made was adding a little parawax to the chocolate so it wasn't so thick - it was easier to work with this way.

No Roll Pie Crust I

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2005
I don't have that 'light touch' needed for traditional pie crusts so this was a perfect fit for me! I put it between two pieces of waxed paper to spread it enough to top a chicken pot pie. This recipe nice surprise.

Taco Salad I

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2005
I make this same recipe but I don't cook the dressing in the hamburger mixture and I omit the chili beans. I mix everything up (hamburger cooled) and pour the dressing over the salad fixings and combine - I also use crushed nacho cheese Dorito's instead of tortilla chips.

Ribboned Fudge Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2005
Love, love, LOVE this recipe - and it's so pretty! I've made this couple of times for the office and it's been a big hit. I top it with the Satiny Chocolate Glaze from this same website and that just gives it a little extra something. Thanks so much for sharing it Jo.

Belle's Hamburger Buns

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2007
I wish I could agree with everyone else on this recipe but based on my results, I can not. I found the buns heavy and tough. I used a breadmaker to mix the dough and also let it rise in it so that may have been the problem. I would suggest that when you go to press the balls down that you keep in mind (again, from my experience) that the dough will not expand much but will rise, so make sure you flatten them well.
