Easy Turkey Gravy

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2011
Turned out fantastic! The first time I've made gravy. My grandma makes the best gravy in the world and I am very picky about it. This tasted just like hers! I used 3 cans of chicken broth rather than turkey stock and a lot of pan drippings. I didn't have poultry seasoning, so I didn't use it. I don't think it took away from the taste though. As the recipe promises, no lumps.

Pumpkin Cake III

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2010
AMAZING!!! I took the advice of many other members and used 3/4 cup oil and 1/2 cup apple sauce (drained a bit in a paper towel). I also added more cinnamon, all spice, nutmeg, cloves and ginger. I didn't add the nuts because I don't like nuts in my cakes. Used a bundt pan and cooked for 50 minutes. Also used cream cheese II recipe from this site (from jj) and added a little milk to think so I could use it as a glaze. Everyone loved it!

Cherry Pie III

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2009
Every one loved this pie! I made a few changes and used canned country style cherries and put them in a saucepan on medium heat and added a bit of cornstarch. This thickened the sauce a little more, and it turned out great. I also added the almond extract, which was awesome. Everyone was wondering what the little extra was! Didn't use the crust recipe, because I have my own that turns out much better.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2009
I thought this stew turned out really well. I will make a few changes next time, I think, like possibly add some cornstarch so it's thicker, and make sure to cook it as long as possible so your potatoes get soft!

Cornish Game Hens with Rice Stuffing

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
This turned out great! I'm reviewing it now, but I made it for Valentine's Day. For the Stuffing, I used wild rice, diced almonds, onions, and chicken broth. I cooked it all together and made my stuffing that way. I stuffed the hens and cooked. Turned out great! Easy recipe that looks very elegant.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
I think this turned out pretty good. I may have left it in the slow cooker too long, and it got a bit dry. I'll have to try it again and leave it in for a little less time.

Amazingly Easy Irish Soda Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
I've never made Irish Soda Bread before. This was really easy, and turned out really good! It's delicious the next day and after warmed up a little in the microwave with a little butter. Even better...honey butter.

World's Greatest Vegetable Broth

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
This broth was okay. I think since I'm not a huge fan of cooked carrots and celery, that did it in for me. My boyfriend liked it a lot though.

Mushroom Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
This was absolutely delicious! I made a few tweaks, like most of those reviewing. I used two pounds of mushrooms and one whole sweet onion. I browned some garlic in olive oil in the pan, then removed the garlic and browned the pork chops really well. Then I removed the chops and set them aside. I put some butter and olive oil in the pan and all of the sliced mushrooms and onions. Once the moisture from the mushrooms had evaporated and everything was nice and brown, I put about 1/4 cup of milk, the pork chops, and some tarragon in the pan with the onions and mushrooms. Then I poured the Cream of Mushroom Soup on top of the chops and covered it all for 30 minutes. It turned out delicious! It was a big hit and I will definitely make it again.

Dark Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2009
I love this recipe. I gave it four stars, but I always add a big packet of chocolate fudge jello and it's definitely a 5! The rest of the recipe stays the same.
