Pleasant Pork Chops

Reviewed: May 10, 2012
This came out so so good! I pretty much followed the recipe exactly except for adding 1 teaspon of roasted garlic when I was sauteeing the onion and I used lowfat sourcream instead of regular. After I browned the porkchops I put the onions and garlic back in the pan and simmered it all together. The sauce is fantastic! Next time I am going to try grilling the porchops and doing the sauce by itself and pour over the top. This is definitely a new staple in my kitchen!

Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili

Reviewed: May 2, 2013
This is an awesome and super easy recipe! I kind of tweaked though because I didn't have everything in my pantry. I didn't have premade chili seansoning so I made my own chili seasoning with chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt, cayenne pepper, pinch of corriander, garlic powder, marjoram, and paprika. I had dark kidney beans, but I didn't have light kidney beans. I had ranch style beans with sliced jalepeno's which was an awesome substitute that I will probably use forever now! I also used a high quality organic lean ground beef which seriously is way more flavorful than the stuff in the plastic rounds. I didn't have tomato sauce either so I used tomato paste and made sauce out of it. And wow does mild pace picante make the biggest difference ever versus your plain diced tomatos! My husband said this was the best beef chili that I have ever made and it was so easy. He wants me to make this every week now. Awesome recipe! this will def be a staple dinner in my house!

Kale Chips

Reviewed: May 23, 2012
I loved these guys and will definitely make them again for sure! My fiance was not much of a fan, but I didn't mind cause there was more for me! Some advice is to lay all the pieces flat on your baking sheet and don't have pieces on top of other pieces otherwise they won't turn out crispy. I cooked mine on 275 for 13 minutes and they came out perfect. Give them a try you will love them!

Hot and Spicy Tofu

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2012
Great recipe! I have made this recipe a few times and I modified it a bit by taking out the green chiles and adding some frozen broccoli florets and frozen zuchini and its perfect! It's way less spicy without the green chiles. Also I mix 1 tsp of cornstarch with 1 tbs of cold water before adding it n the sauce, it makes a thicker consistency and doesn't soak into the tofu when u add it!

Smoked Paprika Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2012
Great dressing even my fiance liked it and he doesn't really care for vinaigrette style dressings! I didn't have smoked paprika so I used regular and I had some liquid smoke so I just added a 1/4tsp of that and it worked perfectly. Also I didnt have stone ground mustard and I substituted with spicy brown. I also used only 1/3 cup of olive oil instead of 1/2 cup and it was a little tangy, but I love tangy plus less fat!

Sunny's Creamy Chicken Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2012
Great recipe! I made this recipe with thin cut bone in chops with a few alterations. I pre seasoned my chops with paprika, pepper, and seasoned salt. First I carmelized my onion and garlic and added a bit of white wine and vinegar and evaporated the juices out and removed them from the pan. Then I put in the chops and browned them on both sides then added the onion back in. Then poured the chicken broth and about 5 ounces of vegetable broth over the chops. Brought the chops to a boil then reduced heat, flipped chops, covered and simmered for 15 minutes. They turned out fantastic and so tender there was no knife needed served with a homemade spicy creamed cabbage. My fiance loved them as did I and will definitely be a staple in this kitchen!

Spicy Rapid Roast Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2012
Really easy recipe and it was delicious! My chicken was already cut up so I reduced the cook time to 30min and broiled it on high for about the last 3min. The breast came out a little dry, but everything else was fantastic. So next time I will reduce the temp down to 350 and cook 25min. When you pull the chicken out of the oven I would spoon the drippings over the chicken and cover with foil and let it rest for at least 10min.

Lisa's Favorite Carne Asada Marinade

Reviewed: May 23, 2012
This marinade was great! I didn't have lime juice though and I used all fresh fruit. I also added 1 cup of chopped onion to the marinade because that how we do it traditionally when making carne asada. The only reason its not getting 5 starts was because I didn't get the right meat for it and it was not how I like it so next time I will try it with flank steak and I will update the recipe!

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: May 23, 2012
This recipe was great! I made the recipe same exact way except I used light hidden valley ranch, soy sauce light and chicken thighs. My only complaint was that it was a little too salty and I love salt which was surprising and a little oily. You can definitely omit the salt because the ranch and soy have enough on their own and next time I will cut down the the oil in half. This will be a repeat in my kitchen for sure!
