Hot Italian Sausage

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2015
This is the BEST!! I make this big batch, put it in a jar (without the vegetable oil) and take out 2 tablespoons of the spice mix per pound of meat and add 2 tsp plus 1/2 tsp oil and a splash of vinegar. I make it all the time!

Never Fail Biscuits

These are great! I substitute buttermilk for the milk. I put the cut up butter in the food processor with the dry ingredients and then add the milk. Everyone loves them!

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2015
Everyone raved about these! I added a dash of worchestire sauce and some extra parmesan cheese on top. I just put them on a cookie sheet against each other so they didn't fall. I will definitely make these again!

Master Recipe for Rich and Creamy Cheesecake

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2015
I made the cheesecake portion of this recipe exactly as stated and it turned out really good! It was very creamy, moist and didn't crack. For the crust, I made a regular recipe of graham cracker crust which is 1 package of graham crackers, finely ground, 1/4 cup white sugar, 1/3 cup melted butter. Mix all 3 together and put in bottom of buttered pan.

Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2014
These were very easy to make and really good. They were definitely not as sweet as most fudge which is a good thing to me. If you like really sweet fudge, substitute some or all of the semi sweet chocolate chips with milk chocolate. I only put the nuts in half of the fudge because my husband likes nuts in his while my daughter and I don't. I made these on the stove instead of the microwave. I just melted the butter and then put the chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk in the pan on the stove on low heat to melt the chocolate chips. It works fine that way as long as you continually stir.

Fudge Puddles

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2014
Great cookies! I doubled the cookie dough but used a single recipe for the fudge since a lot of people commented that they had too much fudge and it was the perfect amount. I skipped the pecans since my daughter and I don't like nuts in our cookies although I know it would be great in them if you like them. I used a small cookie dough scoop so I didn't have to roll them in balls and cooked them for the least amount of time, 14 minutes. For the fudge, I just put the chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk in a pan on the stove on low heat to melt the chocolate chips. It works fine that way as long as you continually stir. When it was all melted, I took it off the heat and added the vanilla. I will make these often!

Mom's Apple Fritters

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2014
These were really good! I read all the reviews so added 2 tbs white sugar to the batter instead of just one, 2 tsp cinnamon and a couple pinches of nutmeg. I always use almond milk because we don't drink regular milk. I turned the deep fryer on 350 which worked out really good. I also made these bite sized since everyone said they puffed up so much. I rolled some in cinnamon sugar, some in powdered sugar and some I topped with a powdered sugar mixed with water glaze. Most liked the cinnamon sugar the best.

No Bake Chocolate Oat Bars

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2014
This was just O.K. to us, pretty bland. The oat topping and oat bottom were so crumbly that it almost all fell off which is the main reason for a rating of 3. I will probably not make these again.

Vegan Basic Vanilla Cake

Reviewed: May 13, 2014
This cake was really good and moist! We are not vegan (or vegetarian) but this was the only vanilla cake I could find on this site with really good reviews so my 9 year old and I made it. It was a more dense cake but moist. I used almond milk instead of soy and light olive oil instead of canola because that is what we had. Everything else was the same. We used chocolate frosting on top. This will be my new go to vanilla cake!

Buttermilk Pie IV

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2014
I made this for 5 of us and no one really liked it. It was really sweet and didn't have a lot of flavor. A few people said it tasted like flan or Pecan Pie without the pecans. We all agreed it would taste better with something tart like lemon in the batter or unsweetened raspberries or strawberries on top. The top also burned which I noticed 5 minutes before the timer went off. Luckily, the burned layer peeled right off. I will not be making it again.

Glazed Corned Beef

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2014
This was good but I have a different glaze recipe that I have used for years and made a batch of corned beef with this glaze and one with the one I usually make. All 5 of us that ate it liked my usual recipe better.

Diane's Colcannon

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2014
This was soooo good! I served it for St. Patrick's Day and it was a big hit. The only thing I changed was I used buttermilk instead of milk because my husband and I tried a sample both ways and we both liked the buttermilk in it better.

Three Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2014
These are really good! I flattened mine with a fork before I cooked them as others suggested. I also pressed Hersheys Kisses onto half of them right after they came out of the oven. They were amazing! My daughter and I liked them better with the Hersheys Kisses and my husband liked them better without. I will definitely be making these a lot!

Lemon Poppy Seed Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2014
Very good. We made 2 loaves out of the bread instead of 3. I put the glaze on one and not the other. Everyone liked both of them but some liked the added crunch of the one with the glaze better. I read a bunch of review first and did some things differently according to the reviews. I used real lemons instead of the lemon extract. I put in the juice of 2 lemons and added it to the milk so that the total of the 2 combined was 1 1/2 cups. I used 2 tbs. poppy seeds. For the icing I used the orange juice, some lemon juice and enough powdered sugar to make it the right consistency. I poked holes in the top of the bread on poured it on.

Sweet and Spicy Almonds

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2014
These are soooo good! I made them for a group of people on New Years Eve and everyone loved them and couldn't stop eating them. The sweetness and the heat were perfect! The only thing I did different was I only added 1 tsp. salt because I didn't have Kosher salt, only sea salt (table salt). I will be making these often!
