Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2009
WAY too much sugar. I had to brush my teeth after eating it to get rid of the film it left. I will stick to the recipe that I found on epicurious.

Chicken With Mushrooms

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2009
Pretty good. The only change I made was I dipped the chx in flour...then the egg...then the crumbs. I used Italian Seasoned crumbs. I served this over mashed potatoes. Will make again.

Pecan French Toast

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2009
The first time I tried this recipe, I followed it to a "t"..but by adding more wet ingredients it prevented it from drying out in the oven.

Lime Chicken Soft Tacos

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2009
I think I prefer a tequila lime marinade for the grill. Easier to prepare and make and FULL of flavor. This was a bit bland and red wine vinegar was overpowering.

Peanut Blossoms II

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2009
These were kind of bland. The peanut butter cookie didn't have the PB flavor that I was looking for.

North Carolina-Style Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2008
This was just okay. I did follow the suggestions of others by using 1c. of Cider Vinegar and 1c of B. sugar but it still was a bit spicy/vinegary. I will stick to my normal recipe which involves slow cooking it in rootbeer, draining and then adding good ol' bbq sauce. That's our family's fave.

Good flavor...but something was missing...so this is why I only gave it a 4*. Anyone have any ideas on what to add to this?

Double Tomato Bruschetta

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2008
We are very picky...and this is an excellent recipe. I added a tad bit more sun-dried tomatoes than the recipe calls for and I chopped them up so I could get an "all throughout" flavor. Yum! Definitely let them sit for awhile to let the flavors mingle!

Very Easy Risotto

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2007
I'm giving this one a 5*...because I am NOT expecting it to be true and "real" risotto. It's a "very easy Risotto", like immitation. I do this for a quick and easy side-dish. The fam loves it. I use Chicken broth instead of water and I always use fresh parmesan.

Fresh Cherry Crisp

I add 1/4 tsp to the fruit...and 1 tsp of cinnamon to the topping. Yum! This is probably the best crisp that I've tasted!
