About this Cook
I am a SAHM who dabbles in daycare. I have two school aged children who are finally figure out that Mom is not that bad of a cook. I am teaching my kids to cook. They are teaching me how to share the kitchen.
My favorite things to cook
I love to make rustic one pan meals and roasts. I do love to bake and to experiment with salad dressings.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Holiday dinners. The oddest one is sitting around the Thanksgiving table breaking down the turkey meat into measured portions for freezing and the bones into the pot for stock.
My cooking triumphs
Lime Bars, Cheesy Potatoes, PotRoast, Italian Fries.
My cooking tragedies
Far too many. I get distracted and well...things burn.

Mini Ham And Cheese Rolls
We were very fond of these. I didn't have any poppyseeds and only fresh onions but the butter sauce was great with the fresh onion. My husband said that this recipe was a keeper.

Bill's Blue Cheese Dressing
This is the third time I have made this. It was good the first time and I agree with some reviewers that cutting the Worchestershire sauce in half is the way to go. I also like to add a 1/2 teaspoon of Balsamic vinegar. This time I used Lea & Perrins Worchestershire sauce for Chicken (which I believe used to be called their "White Worchestershire") and White Balsamic Vinegar. Doing so lightened the flavor a little and the color a lot.

Cornbread Salad I
This was so good!!! I cut this recipe in half, even then it made a lot. All the adults loved it. My husband described it as a really tasty mixture of foods he would not normally eat. The combination is truely fantastic. I found it a little rich and might cut back a little on the dressing next time.
