Playgroup Granola Bars

I've made these several times. They have been a favorite and are great for packing in lunches even for my hard working teen son and husband. I've substituted wheat flour for the white flour with no notice. I've also added coconut, slivered almonds and cranraisins for variation. One time I put chocolate chips and slivered almonds instead. I double mine and put into a jelly roll pan. Mine always turn out chewy. I individually wrap them and put them in the snack box container. I can't keep them stocked and tell my kids they are only for lunches just so they will last the whole week. Thank you for a great recipe.

Chef John's Buttermilk Biscuits

I usually switch off between 2 other recipes for biscuits that I have, but saw this and decided to try it. They puffed up nice and tasted good when hot out of the oven. As soon as they started to cool off, they weren't that great. My family asked me why I didn't make the usual ones. I usually make lots so they can have the leftovers in the morning with breakfast. They were hard and not very tasty. My family was not too happy and I used 3 cubes of butter because I tripled it which made it more expensive to make than using shortening. So I probably won't make these again.

No Bake Peach Pie

I loved this peach pie. I had some homemade baked pie crusts already made so I used those instead of graham cracker crust. It was delicious. My husband loved how fresh and light it tasted. I followed the recipe exactly. I will make this a seasonal favorite every early fall. Make sure you use nice sweet ripe peaches.

Sweet Restaurant Slaw

This has been the best coleslaw and a favorite at our house. I made this last summer when I was feeding 100 people. I even had people who don't like coleslaw say they liked it. I like it with Best Foods Mayonnaise. I used an off brand once and bad mistake. I don't think I would like it with Miricle Whip. Even my family who are Miracle Whip fans say it's best with Mayo. I don't use the bag of coleslaw mix. I use a small or half a large head of cabbage shredded very fine and chopped and 1 carrot grated. Make sure you give it time to blend flavors. People say they like it because it's not too heavy with sauce. It's a nice mix.

Grandmother's Muffins

Batter was way too runny. I put in 2 c. flour after reading all the reviews. It was still too runny. Had a good flavor. Was heavier than I would like. They were ok.
