Okay, let me ask you... Gravy mix?! Are you KIDDING ME??
I love to cook, and I'm getting pretty good at it. My training has included line-cook work and prep-cook work, as well as baking. I love to make homemade bread, and am getting pretty good at crackers, too.
My favorite things to cook
I love to make meatloaf, and can vary the meats and flavors in some interesting and delicious ways. I cook mostly from scratch, and if you took away my can-opener, I'd manage just fine. And let me just say, I have a lot to learn, and am not afraid to admit it and learn.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Grew up without much money, and I can make beans with my eyes closed. I learned to cook as a result of the fact that my Mom never did, with a lot of help from my home-ec teacher and some patient co-workers.
My cooking triumphs
I just learned this summer how to bone a chicken, and I already have it down to under 10 minutes. Wrap that bird up with some sausage meatloaf for stuffing, and roast, easy and delicious.
My cooking tragedies
Turducken. Looked great, but was dry as dust.
