About this Cook
I have been married for 10 yrs. Have 2 dogs and no kids. Love family get togethers and cooking for them.
My favorite things to cook
Anything that keeps me in the kitchen!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom never really cooked anything gourmet. Just spaghetti, tuna casserole, marinated (sweet and sour)chicken and things like that. She was a single mom so cooking was just something she HAD to do. I learned how to cook from my mother-in-law and now my husband can't get enough of it. My husband also loves to cook. Sometimes we even fight over who is going to cook dinner that night!
My cooking triumphs
Thanksgiving Day at my house! I had my family and my husbands family over.It was stressful, but everything turned out great.
My cooking tragedies
Mushroom Moussaka. The 1st gourmet dish I tried turned out bad. No flavor and very soggy and mushy. My husband for years never told me the truth about it. He didn't want to hurt my feelings!

Lentil and Sausage Soup
This was delicious with a few changes. I added chopped kale at the end of the cooking process. doubled carrots, garlic and celery. diced the carrot instead shredding. and used 8 cups of homemade chicken stock and 2 cups of water. Also added orzo pasta.

Napa Cabbage Noodle Salad
Made this for a dinner with some friends. We all really liked it. The things I changed were: I added less sugar, more soy sauce and more white wine vinegar. I thought all that sugar made the dressing a little too sweet. Also added shredded carrots, green onions and sunflower seeds.

Baked Salmon Fillets Dijon
this was very good. I did follow another reviewers advice and mixed the melted butter with the breadcrumbs. I also, added parmesan and chopped slivered almonds to the breadcrumbs. I baked it at 400 for 30 minutes and that was perfect!
