Bologna Salad Sandwich Spread I

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2011
My Mom made a version of this back in the 50's but she would use Vienna sausages instead of baloney. I made this for my kids and grandkids and will try it on my great grands when they get older.

Not bad but I'd use less honey and more sesame oil and vinegar. It is quite sweet made as written. But if you like sweet, this is for you!

Excellent! I think I may add mandarin oranges next time as we love them. Thanks.

Espinacas con Garbanzos (Spinach with Garbanzo Beans)

I followed the recipe to the letter and I found it very bad tasting. My friend that tried it agreed. It sounded so promising as I love all the ingredients but it just wasn't good - IMHO.

Pocket Bread

Sorry, this did not work for me and I've been cooking/baking for 50+ years. None of them puffed up as others I've made. I'll go back to my old recipe that works. I had to try it and followed directions to the T as I do when trying a new recipe but it was a mess and too much time and money to try again.

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2010
I have to agree with an earlier post. Cook the sauce in a different pan. I followed this receipe and my chicken turned out too hard and dry by the time it was finished. The sauce was so-o good and I think it'd make a good dipping sauce. I'm going to try just that when I make Chicken Tempura!

Thousand Island Dressing III

Reviewed: May 7, 2010
This is a great recipe! You'll never buy that bottled stuff again. I didn't add green peppers or pimentoes - didn't have them. I did add more chile sauce and used sweet relish that I had made. I may add some finely minced onions next time. My Rueben sandwiches certainly tasted better with this on them! YUM!

Homemade Flour Tortillas

These did take some time but BOY were they worth it! I did add a bit of cumin and garlic powder and was very pleased with the taste. I took out some sauce and ate some as I made them! No more store bought for me! Thanks LaDonna for sharing.

Key West Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2009
This was yummy! I made it last night and it was a big hit with everyone. I butterflied the chicken breasts as they were very large. Followed the directions and it came out absolutly delicious! (Next time I'll double the marinade, put some aside and serve it with the chicken after heating it up a bit.)

Anniversary Chicken I

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2008
I followed the receipe and tips from other reviewers by using low sodium Ranch, teriyaki, cheese and real, low sodium bacon, not the fake bits. It was way too salty for me and I'm a salt lover. Sorry, I won't be making this again.

Baked Cheese Olives

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2008
I've been making this for over 25 years and they are the most requested item for any and all family get togethers - weddings, showers, holiday dinners, etc. I do add paprika and not so much cayenne pepper, we have little ones that don't like things too spicy. (Make sure you totally cover the olive with the dough - trust me!) I always make these ahead and freeze them on a cookie sheet until frozen then put them in a zip bag and back into the freezer. You realy don't have to defrost before baking - just add a few extra minutes and keep your eye on it so they don't burn.

Gorgonzola Cheese Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2008
I agree - there's not enough cheese to label this *Gorgonzola* - it's more like a roux, Maybe if I added a cup or more of the cheese it would work but I think there are better recipes out there.

Best Ever Chicken Casserole

I made this exactly as the recipe said and I was not impressed. It was way too bland and I don't think I'll try it again. Sorry, but I guess our taste buds want a bit more than this offered.

Garlic Parmesan Chicken

Reviewed: May 18, 2008
I made this with boneless, skinless chicken breast as that's our favorite. I used Panko bread crumbs instead of regular as they're my breading of choice. I did make a bit too many and so the next day I made chicken salad and it was SO good on toasted homemade bread. All in all, it's a keeper here because any dish that can serve for two meals works for me! Thanks for sharing!

Zesty Coleslaw

This is about the best slaw I've ever made! The horse radish gives it a nice bite which my DH really enjoyed, as did I. Good change from the *regular* slaws we've been used to and great on Bar-B-Q sandwiches. Thanks for a keeper and it's gets better the longer it chills.

Pork, Apple, and Ginger Stir-Fry with Hoisin Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2008
This is a great recipe! I used pork tenderloin instead of just loin and it was so tender. My hubby was disappointed when it was all gone - he'd been taking it for lunch. Next time I'll make more and see how it freezes. BTW, I did cut back on the sugar and used Splenda, it worked very well.

Popcorn Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2008
I made this for my family as it seemed it would be a different and fun salad. We were not inpressed, sorry! It tasted like a usual, veggie salad to us and I followed the directions exactly. I couldn't taste the popcorn and it all but dissapeared under the dressing. I don't think I'll try this again but I did have high hopes for it!
