Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: May 26, 2009
LOVED IT! Went pretty much by the recipe. Needed more hash browns to cover the bottom of the 9 x 13" pan, but it was still incredible. Boyfriend lapped it up it, too, and he doesn't usually rave about my cooking. LOL. We will make this again.

Banana Pudding IV

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2008
INSANELY tasty!!!!! I used one box of regular Jello brand vanilla pudding plus 1/2 box of Jello French vanilla, stacked it all up in my trifle bowl, covered and let it chill overnight. Very easy to make. I have never made banana pudding before, but I will definitely be making this again, if only for myself!

Brazilian Lemonade

Delicious! I doubled the recipe and used just 1/2 cup of Splenda with fat free sweetened condensed milk, and it tasted just right. Great recipe!

Thin Mint Crackers

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2007
This recipe was a total hit with the family during the holidays. Everybody decorated their own -- and, per other reviews, these cookies are ringers for the famous Girl Scout thin mint cookies. We got so into it that we melted down our Christmas chocolate candy and kept on dippin'!

Chocolate Trifle

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2007
This is just insanely good! I made the brownies very soft-set so they were all gooey. After reading other reviews, I used heavy whipping cream in the chocolate mousse and the French vanilla Cool Whip. I could eat this entire trifle in one sitting!!!! Mmm, mmmm good!!

Mamaw Thelma's Instant Potato Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2007
I did not care for this. Mine tasted okay, but the consistency was like loose grits. The amount of liqued in this recipe was twice what the potato box called for, and I could never add enough additional potatoes to get it right. I don't think I'll be trying this one again, easy as it is.

Grilled Marinated Shrimp

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2007
OMG! Who knew a mere mortal could cook something this amazing? This was the first thing I've cooked on my brand new grill, and WOW! This is foolproof, folks. I didn't have parsley, but added a healthy dose of country dijon mustard. And I just used those cheap shrimp from the freezer section. This tastes gourmet. Thanks for a KILLER recipe!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2007
These cookies were to die for! With the exception of extending the baking time significantly, I made them by the book, and they did not disappoint. They tasted very buttery and chocolatey. The best chocolate chip cookies I've ever eaten.

Artichoke Spread

Reviewed: May 19, 2004
I made this recipe because it seemed very similar to that which a local caterer makes. The good news is that that taste was right on! The bad news is that it contained an oil slick that looked like butter. I'm curious that I made it by the book but that nobody else seems to have had an excessive oil content. Any ideas what went wrong? Looked terrible but tasted great!

Anniversary Chicken I

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2004
This one is tough to review fairly. I had high hopes for it and give it high marks for ease of preparation, aroma and visual appeal. But as far as taste, it was a waste of good chicken. The consistency was bizarre, too. Not dry as many have reported, but watery. Not my cup of tea.

Cranberry Scones

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2004
Amazing recipe! I used orange flavored Craisins and help back 1/4 cup of the half and half. They were easy to shape and the finished consistency was perfect. My friends loved them so much that I gave all but one away. Delicious! Thanks!

Cranberry Orange Loaf

This recipe is out of this world! I used chopped walnuts in place of pecans. Delicious! I ate all but one slice myself (bad girl!!).

Hummus III

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2003
This is good stuff! I took the advice of others and added a bit of the beans' juice, and the consistency came out perfect. I ground sesame seeds in the food processor instead of tracking down tahini, and it came out delicious. I also added cumin and dill weed, so it tasted more like the "40 spices" hummus flavor sold at my local grocery.

Pesto

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2003
Oh, man, this stuff is GOOOOOOOD! I wanted to make my own pesto to cristen my new Cuisinart and so I could control the oil content. It's so hard to get massive amounts of basil where I live. So I could only amass two cups. I added extra garlic, parmesan/romano mix and some lemon juice to taste. Tastes amazing! I eat this stuff by itself - no bread, pita, pasta or anything. It's great on its own. Thanks for sharing, Valerie (my middle name, by the way!)
