Pumpkin Cheesecake II

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2005
I made this for our Christmas dessert, and it was the BEST pumpkin cheesecake I've ever eaten. I made the crust without the pecans, but it was still great. Next time, will make the crust with ginger snaps. Definitely a keeper! Thanks for the great recipe!

Bread Pudding II

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2005
My family LOVED this recipe. I substituted cinnamon raisin bread for the bread and eggnog for the milk. I also topped it with a brandied caramel syrup for a yummy holiday dessert.

Insalata Caprese I

Loved this recipe! The fresh mozzarella definitely makes the salad tastier. It's worth the extra effort to get it.

Easy Herb Roasted Turkey

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2005
I cut the olive oil to 1/3 cup and added 1/3 cup butter to the mix, loosened the skin and rubbed the mix under the skin. I also baked the turkey upside down to help the breast meat stay moist. It tasted really good, but it was almost greasy. The drippings did make nice gravy, but again that was oilier than normal, as well. If I decide to use this again, I will reduce the oil and butter even more.

Kabob Marinade

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2005
Great recipe! This is so easy, as all the ingredients are already in my kitchen. We have used it on almost every meat that we have cooked, and it turns out great every time. We only use the tenderizer on cheap cuts of meat.

Mrs. Schaller's Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2005
The dough was very hard to mix thoroughly, and it was sticky and hard to work with. After baking, it was obvious that the dough didn't mix well, as the cookies were bumpy looking, not smooth. That would have been fine (as I don't really care what my food looks like, as long as it tastes good), but the flavor was very bland. My daughter, who likes almost any cookies, didn't like them very much either.

Coconut Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2004
I used light coconut milk and I added a bit of fresh coconut to increase the coconut flavor. I also added quite a bit of paprika to spice it up a little more. We ate it with our family-favorite Jerked Chicken, and everybody really liked it! I will say that this is not a side dish for an everyday meal, as the flavor is very unique.

Asparagus Cashew Rice Pilaf

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2003
From all the other reviews and as a vegetarian, I was excited to see how this recipe would turn out. The ingredients are quite expensive, but I thought this would taste wonderful. However, my husband and two children tasted it once, and threw their helpings away. I thought it was OK, but very bland. Certainly not worth the hour long time investment to make a "side dish". Needless to say, I was disappointed with this recipe.

Blue Cheese Dip II

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2005
I LOVE THIS RECIPE! I first made it several years ago, and many people have asked me for the recipe since then. It tastes best if you make it several days in advance, and leave it in the refrigerator to "age" and let the flavors blend properly. YUMMY!
