Hoppin' John
Very good! My husband and son have agreed this will be an annual New Years' Day recipe. The recipe did not call for it, but I pre-soaked the peas and tossed out the soaking water, adding fresh water for the recipe. I also increased the water to 5 cups. I also added a can of 'diced tomatoes with chiles' for color and extra flavor. Couldn't find any smoked cheddar cheese, but regular sharp cheddar worked just fine. I served it with hot corn bread muffins and a tossed salad. Great meal!!!

Shrimp Alfredo Pasta
I used half the amount of butter, and I think I could have reduced it a little more. It was a little too bland for my taste - next time i will add tomates and maybe sliced ripe olives and basil.

Angel Hair Pasta with Shrimp and Basil
Delicious! Wish I'd read the reviews before making the recipe, though -- because I would have cut the tomatoes in half. There is definitely a misprint; one 28 oz can or 2 - 14oz cans is what is needed. So I had too much tomato, but it was still wonderful. Definitely a keeper.
