My favorite things to cook
Any thing I am preparing for someone. I love to entertain and cook for big crowds. Easy appitizers or fancy dinners I enjoy cooking for others.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I have three adult daughters all of whom are good cooks. We used to take turns cooking dinner and critiqued one anothers food. When they were young we had some scary stuff. I am always tweeking recipes for taste or because I don't have all the ingredents and some of their first tries were terrible.But they have all learned and all enjoy sharing recipes and food.
My cooking tragedies
When teaching my girls to make Thanksging dinner 3 years in a row I left the sugar out of the pumpkin pie !!! Now they will not let me make Pumpkin Pie for any dinner but we still laugh about it

Citrus Turkey Brine
oh my a wonderful bird. I had never cooked a bird with out putting it in a bag to cook. I forgot the bag so decided to try this . the hardest part was finding a place to soak the bird. Used a 5 gallon bucket in the fridge and every thing from the fridge to the care over night thank goodness it was cold. Will forget the bag from now on the bird was bueatiful and juicy. Cooked 1/2 way with the breast down and covered with wine soaked towel except for the last hour.

Cinnamon Roasted Sweet Potatoes
I was the only one in the family that ate these every one else said where is the sugar. I would cut down on oil the next time but a good quick recipe one you potatoes are peeled.

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole
this will forever replace the old green bean cassarole our family made for big dinners I made one change I used the fried onions out of a can on top instead of the crackers. But a great recipe thanks.
