Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2012
Been making this for years, we don't change the recipe one bit. Sometimes we have less bananas, and it still comes out great. I typically try to make several loafs at a time, as they freeze beautifully. I make sure they are triple wrapped and then put in the freezer after they cooled.

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

For those who are complaining of too much salt: make your own italian dressing dry mix by searching for a recipe on this site. Then alter the salt content to your liking. Then use reduced salt cream of chicken soup mix. Most of us have the ingredients for the italian style dressing mix on hand in our seasoning cupboard. Which can help save a little $ as well.

Chili I

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2011
Absolutely my fave chili recipe. One pound of ground beef is enough, also reduced the beans down to 3 cans (2 kidney, 1 chili bean). Increased tomatos to 2 cans since I omited the coffee. Used red pepper flakes instead of cayenne. Used one anaheim pepper, chopped. Added in paprika and pepper. I threw it all into the crock pot on high for 3-4 hours.

Baked Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2011
Used 8 chicken legs instead. Covered them in paprika, S+P and let them sit overnight in the fridge. The next morning, I set them into our crockpot over the top of foil balls. Be careful to not over cook them. I cooked mine on low for 9 hours and they were borderline overcooked. But they still turned out nicely browned, and had good flavor. Reminded me alot of rotisserie chicken from the grocery store!

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2011
Really good... substituted the buttermilk with lemon and milk. Made them into muffins. These freeze well too, we made extras and popped the rest into a freezer bag. Whenever we need them for dinner, I pull them out, wrap them in a paper towel and microwave them for a minute.

Omitted oil. Pork was fatty enough. Made lots of liquid, used a smaller roast. Adjust pounds according.
