Italian Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2012
This recipe is amazing and absolutely wonderful. I used one mexican zucchini and one regular zucchini. The mexican zucchini is slightly sweeter and stays firmer.

Moroccan Chicken Stew

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2011
I've made this recipe several times now and it is wonderful. I doubled the raisins, almonds, curry & cinnamon. I used sliced almonds rather than slivered and used 1 1/2 cans of tomato soup. Also used 1 green and 1 red pepper. I cannot say enough good things about this recipe - it is devinely yummy.

Peach Cobbler VI

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2006
This is my first time to make "canned cobbler" - this recipe is excellent and my co-workers could not stop talking about how delicious it was. I doubled the crust batter and spices plus used 3 1/2 28 oz cans of sliced peaches - served topped with redi-whip. This is an excellent, easy and quick dessert.

Baked Potato Soup III

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2006
I made this soup to surprise a dear co-worker who really wanted potato soup. She and everyone loved it! And now I am being asked to make it often. The best suggestion is to "truly" bake the potatoes. I also decided to some of the bacon fat in the roux for more flavor. I did not serve the same day but rather chose to refrigerate overnight for flavor. This is a very thick soup therefore the next day needed to be thinned with milk/half & half but the flavor was excellent. I chopped the bacon before cooking and any lartger bits, broke them prior to adding to soup. I held back some to add upon serving along with finely shredded cheddar and sour cream. This is a killer soup! Thank you.

Baked Potato Soup I

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2006
I made this with skepticism. Everyone loved it! And now I am being asked to make it weekly. The best suggestion is to "truly" bake the potatoes. I also decided to use a half/half mixture of shredded mild cheddar and monterey jack. Additionally used some of bacon fat in the roux for more flavor. Truly wonderful soup!

Southern Style Banana Split Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2006
I made this recipe exactly to a "T". While taking the advise of other readers/raters, I too think a full cake mix box is too much. I made the cake recipe as suggested but after cooling cut 1/3 of the baked cake off. Also added fresh, ripe, strawberries now in season, swirled lots of chocolate syrup on top of bananas, pineapple, and strawberries. I also chopped the marichino cherries and sprinkled under the whipped topping along with pecan pieces before the whipped topping. On the topping I dotted with a bit more chocolate syrup (for decoration) and sprinkled with finely chopped pecans. For the team luncheon this was presented on the top, just before serving marichino cherries were stratigically positioned on the top to indicate portions. This cake was such a hit, a dozen people later asked me to make for them again. Bravo!

Kentucky Banana Pudding

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2006
As with another rater, the aftertaste totally disagreed with me. I do not see or understand the 5 star rating by others. I will not make this again and will stick with what I believe to be the best banana pudding recipe found on this site (Grandma's Banana Pudding) which I think is the best all time!
