About this Cook
I sell real estate. There is never a week that goes by that I am not bringing something baked in to work or to my family to try out.I am notorious for baking with some amazing results. I just seem to have a sense for which recipes are real winners and I only try them and keep them in my collections. Some people are bakers and some are cooks. I am a baker....but a pretty good cook as well.
My favorite things to cook
I loved to bake. Anything and everything from breads to pastries. I have a special place in my heart for pasta dishes since I have been making homemade pasta since I could reach up and turn the crank on my Mom's pasta machine (apparently I was 2 years old when I did this).
My favorite family cooking traditions
Special occasion feasts that have changed little over the decades. These include lamb at Easter. We were never too keen on turkey at Christmas so my grandfather, in trying to adapt to North American traditions, came up with a chilled version of it in aspic that we used for many years.
My cooking triumphs
I once baked cookies for a school Christmas concert. There was enough to serve all 300 people in attendance. It took me 2 weeks and on the day of the event 3 of us unloaded my car which had a trunk full of boxes. I bake a mean apple pie.

Ruby Drive Sloppy Joes
I had been making another version from this website for a few years until I found and tried this one. It will be my new standard.

Hot Milk Sponge Cake I
I had an old hot milk sponge cake recipe that my mom made for years and I continued to make. This one surpasses it by far! Love the broiled topping but recommend using pecans instead of walnuts.

Dog Treats I
Our dog eats 2 of these for his breakfast every day. I have occasionally used peanut butter instead of cheese and they are great (you may have to add a bit more flour in this case). I eat one occasionally as they taste that good!
