Irish Cream Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2010
This was pretty good! I'll admit that I'm more of a cook than a baker, but this seemed so easy that I tried it for new years eve and brought it to a party. I stayed true to the recipe except leaving out the water and replacing it with irish cream like other reviewers recommended. If I make it again I would let the cake cool completely and even let the glaze cool off a bit before brushing it on the cake because it soaked it up when I put warm glaze on slightly warm cake rather than turn into a crunchy glaze. Still tasted great, but the pics with the whitish glaze looked so good!

Turkey Sloppy Joes

Love these! So much healthier than using ground beef and a can of sloppy joe sauce.

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2007
This was great! Like other reviewers I added the cream cheese towards the end and let it cook for a little over 30 minutes to get the lumps to "melt" and blend in, plus I added fresh sliced mushrooms about 2 hours before it was finished. Good stuff on a cold winter day!

Hot Pizza Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2007
Very good! I took the advice to microwave the pepperoni beforehand to get rid of some of the grease, but the first time I left it in for a full minute and it burned, but then I did it the correct way and the dip turned out great! Be aware that the finished product depends on how good the pizza sauce you use, so choose a good one. Easy recipe!!

Burrito Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2006
Great recipe! Like some others, I added a packet of taco seasoning to the mixture plus other spices, and I only used 6 tortillas. I spread the beans on the tortillas rather than mix them in the meat. Also used two bags of cheese and everyone loved it. Will definitely make again. Put this together Thursday night and after work on Friday sipped margaritas as it baked. Perfect!

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2006
Delicious! Like other users, I put the whole boneless chicken breasts in the pot at the beginning of cooking, then pulled them out, shredded them and returned to pot about an hour before it was finished. I will definitely do that again! Chicken shredded with barely a touch and the taste was excellent. I also added sliced carrots and used tortilla chips from a bag, which were fine. Will definitely make again!

Chicken Divan

Reviewed: May 24, 2006
We loved this! I used one can cream of chicken and one can cream of mushroom, and I had the chicken sliced thin rather than shredded, and it turned out great. Will make again for sure.

Southern Mushroom Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2006
I don't know about it being southern, but with a couple changes it was great. I didn't do the bread and cheese part, I just served it as soup. I added a little worchestershire sauce and some garlic powder for flavor, and that instantly made a huge difference. I chopped portobello mushrooms into good sized pieces and the flavor was delicious. I'll definitely make again. It's hard to believe that this was so quick.

Baked Potato Dip

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2006
Had to update my review because I've made this several times over the past couple years, and I find it to be a Five-Star recipe with the following changes: reduce the green onions to 2 or 3 rather than an entire bunch and add a packet of the powdered ranch dressing mix. Raves every time, and people keep eating it until it's gone, usually very early in a party. Can't be beat!

Bar-B-Que Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2005
Now THIS is good! I can't wait to have friends over for bbq and see their faces when I tell them the sauce is homemade! I also added a couple dashes of liquid smoke, and it turned out awesome.

Cornish Finnish Michigan Pasties

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2005
These are great! Another one born and raised in Michigan, and these taste like the real thing, including one I had while in England. The rutabaga is a must for the flavor, and I had no trouble with dryness. I spiced the filling up a bit and added a little worchestershire sauce, and I brushed the outsides with eggwash before baking. I'll be making more and freezing them soon!

Quiche

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2004
This was a great base to put in any fillings and/or spices you would like. I use ham, cheese and mushrooms, but there are endless possibilities. Since pie crusts come in packages of two, I'm going to fill up my freezer with different varieties to have on hand!

Angel's Old Fashioned Beef Stew

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2004
Great recipe! I spiced it up to our personal tastes. At first when I put everything in the pot, I thought I had done something wrong - the stock didn't cover everything, but then eventually as it simmered all was well. The edges of the potatoes kind of "melted" to thicken the broth and made it perfect - no need for added flour. This tasted even better after sitting overnight. I'll make again very soon!

Chicken with Lemon-Caper Sauce II

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2004
This is a great recipe. I agree that the sauce is very zesty and may be too much for some, but we love it. I like to pound down the chicken a bit for a uniform thickness, plus it looks like more on the plate when you're trying to cut calories. I serve this with couscous and steamed brocolli. Will make many more times!

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2004
This is perfect with a couple additions. I add extra buffalo wing sauce (Frank's Red Hot), a diced small onion and a 4 oz. can of chopped chiles. Just the right heat and zesty flavor. We like it best with tortilla chips.

Baked Ziti I

Very good! We had this last night and I had some of the leftovers for lunch. The flavors are great and it made a lot. I spiced up the sauce and didn't use all of the pasta. Will make again!

Anniversary Chicken I

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2004
Like most others, I must admit that this combination sounded strange but with all the raves I had to try it, and I'm glad I did! Made it just as directed by the recipe and turned out wonderful. I will pound down the breasts next time so the thickness is more even and there's more surface to cover with the delicious sauce, but no changes other than that. I will DEFINITELY make this easy yet awesome recipe again!

Mexican Chicken Corn Chowder

This was really good! I shredded the chicken instead of cubing it. The corn and chicken and cheese together tasted so good. Not a light meal by any means, but hearty.

Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: May 30, 2003
Great taste, appearance and texture! Like others, I spiced the chicken. I made a nice gravy with the chunks from the bottom of the pan to go with peppery mashed potatoes that I served with this, plus creole corn. This recipe is awesome! Will try with crushed Cheese-It's sometime...
