Orzo with Kale

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2015
I really wanted to like this recipe. The kale and garlic seemed to burn.I will try again...but next time will blanch the kale then fry it on a lower temperature and for a shorter period of time. I did end up putting some feta cheese on top before serving to take away the burnt taste.

We LOVED this recipe! Took some others advice and cooked the potatoes longer. We didn't add raisins or cilantro but it was still fantastic.Great way to use the super food kale. Next time we will try sweet potatoes. Thanks for the great recipe!

Bacon and Cheddar Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2014
My daughter makes these all the time. Everyone LOVES them. Make sure to use crimini mushrooms. We tried to use button mushrooms once and they were too watery. Thank you for a great recipe.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew IV

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2014
I have made this stew many times. My husband loves it! A couple of times I didn't have any onion soup mix so I substituted 2 cups of boiling water with 3 Tbls. of chicken soup base, and 3 Tblsp. of tomato paste,1 Tblsp. worcestershire sauce, 1 tsp. garlic powder and 1 tsp. oregano. I also add a bay leaf on top while it is simmering. Thanks for a great recipe.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2014
This recipe was very good. I must have let it simmer too long because it was too thick to pour over top of the pie. I just mixed it in with the apples. It had an amazing flavor. I found the granny smith apples a little too tart for my liking. Next time I will use a combination of apples and try that. Thank you for the recipe.

Unbelievable Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2014
We are always looking for new marinades for chicken. I have made this twice. First time I only let it sit marinate for 4 hours and used the George Foreman grill. The second time I let it sit over night and baked it in the oven 400 degrees for 45 min. It was a lot tastier letting it marinate over night. I didn't have cider vinegar so I used balsamic. I will try again in the summer time on the BBQ with cider vinegar. Thank you for the recipe.

Healthier Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2014
I made this for dinner last night. We loved it. I changed the mayo to miracle whip (because that's what I had) and instead of broiling, I baked for 12 min. at 400 degrees and broiled for 2 min. at the end.

Chicken Vegetable Barley Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2014
This soup was a very good base. It definitely needed some more spices. I added some oregano, basil, and parsley flakes along with the sea salt and pepper. I also used turbetti pasta shells instead of barley and left out the butter. I also added parmesan cheese just before serving.

Spicy Peanut Chicken Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2014
This was an excellent stir fry sauce. I doubled the sauce and used vegetables that I had in the fridge. Onions, garlic, broccoli, red and yellow peppers, mushrooms, snow peas and chicken. I served it over brown rice and we all loved it. I will make it again. Thank you for the great recipe.

Awesome Summer Watermelon Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2014
After reading all the reviews I thought I would try this. I was extremely disappointed. Maybe I did something wrong. It was very soggy and not very pleasing to the eye...especially the next day.

Awesome marinade! I made this marinade with chicken breasts yesterday. I used olive oil instead of veg. oil and everything else stayed the same. I grilled them in the George Foreman grill. Chicken was nice and moist. My daughter and I both loved it. Thanks for the GREAT recipe.
