Peach Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2003
I liked the bread but wished it had a bit more peach taste. Cinnamon was a bit over powering. I did use half the oil and applesauce worked well. Next time I will chunk the peaches and use more. I also covered it for the tail end of baking as suggested. Over all this is a keeper!!

Strawberry Rhubarb Pie III

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2003
I found it to be too runny. I am not sure what I did or if it was the recipie but I don't think I will try it again to find out. I used the crumb topping which added more needed sweetness.

Taco Salad I

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2003
The twist the dressing gave it was just what I was looking for. I often make taco salad and will use this variation from now on. I didn't have French and used Russian instead. It was still great. I added onion to the ground beef when cooking. This was a great hit at my church dinner. Will be making often this summer.

Banana Banana Bread

I made mini-loafs and they were wonderful. I cut the baking time almost in half. This is my new recipe for banana bread.

Strawberry Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2003
Great bread. I took this to a church dinner and it was gone before any of the others I took. I made this with both big and small chunks of berries and like the bigger chunks better.

Restaurant-Style Coleslaw II

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2003
This is the best I have ever made and sooo easy too. When serving, I drained off all the liquid and should have left half of it and server with a slotted spoon. Draining the liquid drained some of the taste.

Peach Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2003
Very best peach pie I have ever tasted and very easy to make. I did as suggested and left it in the oven while the oven cooled and it worked great. I made one with a double crust and that was just as good.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip Fudge

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2003
Wonderful flavor and very easy to make. I stired the peanutbutter chips a bit too much and they melted a little too much but it was still a hit.

This is a hit at my house and at school. I add a bit more peanutbutter and it still turns out great.

Caramel Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2005
My first Pecan Pie and it was great. A must now for all holidays. We found that we liked it best a bit warmed so we heated it up in the microwave.

Peppermint Patties

I also followed the suggestion and froze it before dipping. I had to keep returning the patties to the frezer as they thawed as they were very hard to work with if were not frozen. It took more time that I would have liked but they were good at any rate.

Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2006
This is definitely a recipe I will use over and over. A sure family favorite. I did not use sour cream and half the salt. I added broccoli that I had blanched when I added the chicken and it was great addition. Next time I add broccoli I will use a little less chicken as I like it a bit saucier.

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2006
Hands down the best crust I have had. I made a chicken-wing pizza as well a traditional one and they were both equally good. When it was baking it smelled just like a pizza shop in the kitchen. Will be my new crust recipe!!!

Smothered Beef Short Ribs

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2006
I was not impressed with this. Part of it may have been the cut of meet, but the sauce just did not have enough flavor to cover the greese of the meet cut. This is not something I would try again.

Bacon and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2006
This was great soup. My husband had potato ham soup at a pub and wanted me to make it. This was the closest to what he described. The only change I made was to add ham in place of the bacon. I added the ham (about 3 cups) about 5 minutes before adding the cheese. I only had a block of cheese so I just added small chunks of cheese (did not want to get the grater out) and it turned out just fine. When making this make sure you stir it a little more often after adding the cheese to ensure it does not burn. My husband said it was even better than the pub’s soup!!

Daddy's Sausage and Peppers

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2006
This was great. I followed the recipe exactly and am glad I did. My husband said it tasted like something he had in a restaurant only better. Even my kids who do not eat peppers and onions if they know they are there ate them. My 10 year old commented that they did not taste like peppers. We had it over pasta with a salad. I can’t wait to try it again this summer with peppers and onions fresh from our garden!!!

This was way to runny for me. Also it was a bit hot. My sister liked it however so I gave it a 3. I will not make it again.
