Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2008
I was making taco pizza today and realized that I was out of taco seasonings, so I thought I would give this a try. I didn't have any cumin and was worried that it would not turn out right, I was wrong this is fantastic, so now I can't wait to try it with the cumin in it. I will not be buying ready made taco seasonings anymore! THANKS for the recipe!

Elaine's Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2007
The flavor of these cookies are very good, but they were very crumbly when I made them. I think next time I will try 1 1/2 cups peanut butter, 3 eggs and 1/4 cup water or milk to see if it helps. I gave this 5 starts because the flavor is good, they are easy to make, the kids at VBS LOVED THEM and I think with a little tweeking of the recipe they will be perfect!

Very good! I baked these for Easter so I added green food coloring to the mix and shaped cookies into nest. Immediatly after baking I topped with 3 starburst jelly beans. I also added 1/2 tsp of almond extract with the 2 teaspoons vanilla.

Farmer's Country Breakfast

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2007
Good and easy breakfast recipe. I added chopped green pepper to the hashbrowns and onions. I also left out the parsley. My family said it would make a great filling for a breakfast burrito.

Potatoes Romanoff

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2006
Great recipe. Made it with light sour cream and light velveeta instead of regular. Took the left overs and made a great potato soup the next night by mashing up the potatoes a little bit and adding a little chicken broth and some skim milk. May 14 update: In my orginal review I left out that I cubed the potatoes instead of mashing them. When I made the soup that is when mashed them slightly.

Apple Crisp III

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2006
Very good recipe. I had some fresh peaches that I needed to use up so I used 6 large peaches in place of the apples. I also reduced the water to 1/3 cup and added 1 tsp. of almond extract and 1/2 tsp. of orange extract to the water. Turned out really yummy.

Sour Cream-Rhubarb Squares

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2006
Very YUMMY! The only thing I did different is that I doubled the crumb topping for the top and used a little over 2 cups of rhubarb. I found that is didn't need to bake as long as the recipe said. I only baked for 40 minutes. Turned out very moist and yummy!!!

Peach Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2006
I used 2 large cans of peaches in lite syrup drained, 1/2 cup flour, 1 cup sugar, 1/2 teaspoon almond extract, and 1/4 cup butter. I mixed the peaches, flour, sugar and almond together and poured it into the shell and dabbed the butter on top. Then I put the top crust on and sprinkled it with sugar. I baked it at 400 for 15 min. and then at 350 for 45 min. I also covered the edge of the crust for the first 45 minutes of baking and baked it uncovered for the last 15 minutes to keep it from over browning.

Italian Style Meatloaf I

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2006
Very good recipe. My family loved it and they are not big meatloaf fans. I did change a couple of things because I used what I had on hand. I replaced the tomatoes with a 14oz jar of pizza sauce. I also used 2lbs of 96% lean ground beef. I increased the bread crumbs to 1 cup and used italian bread crumbs. I also replaced the ketchup with 8 ounces of italian tomatoe sauce.

Very good recipe. I used 6 tsp. pumpkin pie spice instead of the spices listed. I also used 2 cups splenda, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup brown sugar, 1 cup canola oil and 1/2 cup melted butter instead of the 4 cups sugar and 1 1/2 cups oil.
