This was a really good recepie! I attempt many things and I would say this egg bake was a joy to make. I did prepare on Christmas Eve and made on Chrismas Day.
Made a few changes: 1/2 lb of sausage, toasted 3 pieces of bread and then chopped in cubes (left crust on), mixed with 1 1/2 C of garlic/butter crutons, added 1/4 c of yellow pepper & onion, seasoned with thyme, minced garlic in olive oil, black pepper to taste and mexican cheese.
I prepared in a 8X8 foil pan. (Sprayed with non stick spray) layered bottome of pan with break & crutons. Second layer was seasoned meat and veggie mixture. Third layer was 1 1/2 C of Mexican Cheese. Fourth and final layer was egg mixture seasoned with salt and pepper.
Cooked uncovered for 55 minutes at 350 degrees.
My husband thought it was very good and I would make again and not just for Christmas!! Enjoy and have fun making.
