Thai-Style Peanut Sauce with Honey

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2013
Just came back from a weekend cooking school with my sister. The menu was all SE Asian. The recipe they gave us for their peanut sauce was lacking. It just tasted like watered-down peanut butter. I found this recipe and decided to try it. AMAZING!!!! Only made a few changes, left out the red pepper (wimpy family as far as hot/spicy goes) and used all crunchy peanut butter. I have to triple this. Great on beef/chicken satay and with spring rolls! Thanks for the awesome recipe. YUM,YUM,YUM!!!

Made this exactly as written for a Memorial Day BBQ. Everyone loved the flavor! I have some left over and think I will add a can of tuna to it. Great recipe!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Fabulous! Didn't change a thing. Next time I might add walnuts just because we like a little crunch. The flavor was delicate and tasty. Yum!

Thai Beef Salad

Love this recipe. Did not use the mint, as we don't care for it and used 1 T of lemon grass paste for fresh (couldn't find fresh). Let it sit overnight as some suggested and it was fabulous. Think I might sprinkle with some chopped dry-roasted, unsalted peanuts for a little crunch next time. A keeper!

Pumpkin Spice Martini

Yum! Couldn't find pumpkin liquer, but I found gingerbread liquer from Hiram Walker at my local store. WOW - it is an awesome substitute! Love these and WILL still try to find the pumpkin. Looks great garnished with a cinnamon stick.

Shrimp and Crab Bisque

A wonderful and easy soup. Make sure to double, triple or more. This will be gone in a flash! I did not change a thing. I see a lot of comments about leaving out the wine. I think the key is to use a wine that you enjoy. I used a sweeter local wine and it was delicious. I never use wine in a recipe that I wouldn't drink! :-)

Ricotta Cheese Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2010
I made this recipe exactly as written and baked in a 9x13 pan, as specified. The cake was fantastic! I think if you change the cake mix flavor and extract used in ricotta cheese, the combinations are endless! Can't wait to try more! Would be great with some kind of fruit sauce! Great recipe and SO EASY!!!!

Slow Cooker Mongolian Beef

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2010
Wonderful flavor! When I make Asian food I always shop for sauces, etc. at an Asian market. I think their sauces are more flavorful than those you find in a regular grocery store. I am lucky to have one close to my home! I also used low sodium soy sauce and doubled the onions. This was fabulous!

Easy Cheese Ball II

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2010
My sister made this for Christmas. She skipped the pecans, shaped the "ball" into a tree and rolled it in chopped fresh parsley. Also added a ring of dried cranberries and slivered almonds for tree decorations! So very cute and tasted great!

Great recipe. Made a few minor changes... Used two 4oz cans of diced fire roasted chiles, drained a little, in place of fresh. And substituted fat free half and half for heavy cream. Next time I might add some cilantro and other spices. Yum!

Get a Husband Brunswick Stew

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2009
I used canned diced tomatoes instead of whole because I though they would work better for the consistency of the stew. Other than that, I didn't change a thing. My friends enjoyed eating it with baked "Scoops" tortilla chips.
