Tofu Jerky II

Reviewed: May 18, 2012
I made this for a vegan, and they really loved it. I cooked it much longer than suggested, but I had started out at a lower temperature. The only thing I personally would like would be if it had more flavor. But as I said, the recipient was ecstatic. Vegans are fun to cook for, because no one usually does. ;) They appreciate it more. Adopt a vegan and learn some new tricks. ;)

They are great with cinnamon and sugar but I frosted some too. Better than cupcakes by far!

Overnight Chinese Daikon Radish Pickles

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2011
These are insanely good! I made them on Friday and by Sunday night, when there were only two left, they reached perfection. I cut them into flower shapes with a vegetable cutter and at the end added some pickled ginger, which was super good. Also I added some furikake. This recipe has infinite possibilities, but the pretty shapes you can make with a daikon, and the final delicate flavor are probably the best.

Sherry's German Turkey

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2009
This made a MOIST turkey. I cooked it in the pressure cooker, and the flavor was wonderful. It was a giant turkey so I was afraid it would be dry, but this did the trick. I used the apple, celery, onion and carrot, and used seasoned salt and pepper. I wonder if stuffing doesn't actually dry your turkey out? This was supermoist and wonderfully tasty! Next time I must have the orange too.

Bleu Cheese Macaroni

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2006
Now, some people might like this, but in the end I think the macaroni would have been better with a little butter on it, alone, and the bleu cheese would have been better straight. But, each to his own. (And I do LOVE bleu cheese.)

Shrimp Chowder

Reviewed: May 26, 2003
This was great! I cubed and boiled the potatoes before adding them. It would be hard to cook raw potatoes in this without burning the milk... Also I used cracked pepper and bayleaves. Infinite possibilites with this, use oysters or crab for the shrimp, or maybe I could try soft tofu for the cream cheese. Thanks for the recipe!
