Sweet and Sour Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2003
My husband said this was the best meatloaf he ever had and I've been trying meatloaf recipes for 17 years.

Hot Fudge Ice Cream Bar Dessert

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2003
Absolutely delicious but it's huge! When I make this again, and I will, I will reduce the recipe.

I liked this but with 1 can less beans.

Mint Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2003
I am not a big fudge fan because they are so overpoweringly sweet. But this one was so delicious that I ate a small piece. Then I ate about 5 more small pieces! Easy enough for my 10 year old to make.

Absolutely the Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2003
This recipe made ALOT of cookies. I found that it took a little bit longer than five minutes to bake.I really liked them though.

Banana Crepes

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2003
I loved this, but would only make it for a special occasion. I didn't have leftover sauce so ended up making a little more to put on top.

Ali's Amazing Bruschetta

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2003
I enjoyed this but made so many adjustments I can't give it a 5. I used a little more olive oil, less onion and doubled the fresh herbs. But I guess it's a good recipe because it's easy to adjust to individual tastes.

Chocolate Bread Pudding with Bourbon Pecan Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2004
When we had eaten our fill, I poured the remaining sauce over the leftovers and put it in the fridge. The leftovers were even better than the original.

Raspberry Trifle

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2004
Incredible. Would drizzle a little more raspberry juice if doing this again but we served this for Easter and loved it.

Creamy Cauliflower Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2004
Enjoyed this recipe as a nice change of pace. I would increase the bacon bits if doing again. The kids ate it too. Would be nice for a summer potluck dish.

Hot Cross Buns I

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2004
I accidentally added the cinnamon when I put in the other ingredients and it didn't seem to hurt it a bit. Baked for 15 minutes instead of 20 because I don't like dry rolls. Might meke them into 16 rolls next time because they were big.

Sweet and Tart Strawberry Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2004
This recipe was great! I served it for Easter dinner along with 6 other dishes and lots of people said it was one of the best. Don't let other reviews scare you off from this awesome fruit dish. I thought it was great. The pepper and vinegar added a perfect touch to a sugary strawberry salad. I wasn't sure about how it would turn out when I looked at the recipe. But, I tried it and I'm glad I did. No wonder they put this recipe in the cookbook!

Honey-Poppy Seed Cornish Hens

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2006
I cooked the hens whole instead of cutting in half because I liked the look of serving a whole hen to my company. Worked out fine and they were delicious. I accidentally mixed the salt and pepper in with the honey, but it didn't seem to matter. It was hard to get the honey mixture to spread onto the hens so I actually stuck them in the oven for 3 minutes to get the skin dryer and warmer and that helped.

Slow Cooker Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2009
Much easier than trying to coordinate the stuffing with the turkey. I use a half cup butter though. A cup seems kind of ridiculous.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2011
I love that this soup is delicious and made with very simple, inexpensive ingredients. I had leftover buttermilk in the fridge and used that instead of milk. It was like baked potatoes and sour cream. Delicious. I think this will be a regular recipe in my rotations.

Cherry Pie with Almond Crumb Topping

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2013
I loved the almonds in the topping. They were nice both flavor-wise and for the extra texture they brought to it. I used two bags of frozen dark sweet cherries and liked that it didn't get overly sweet. I think this is my go-to cherry pie now!

Apple Carrot Muffins

Healthy and delicious. I used the bagged matchstick carrots and half whole wheat flour. I even reduced the sugar just a little.
