About this Cook
I love to read, cook, play with my cats (who are all named after food: Omelette, Papple, and Strudel), and collect many things including bones, rocks and plants.
My favorite things to cook
I'll try cooking anything, but will tweak the ingredients if I need to since we don't eat sour cream or mayonnaise in my family.

Habanero Cookies
Definitely worth fiddling with. I made two batches - first, followed recipe to a tee but found they had no heat at all. Second, didn't do the milk bath at all and found they were too hot for my taste. Next time I will do the milk bath for about two minutes. Only other change is I think it needs some kind of glaze...possibly cayenne pepper glaze or sriracha glaze...

Broccoli with Garlic Butter and Cashews
Delicious and easy, although I wish the sauce were a tad thicker.

Twice Microwaved Potatoes
4 minutes was not enough time and unfortunately the skins really don't crisp in the microwave but the filling can be placed in a casserole dish instead and it's delicious that way. we don't eat sour cream in our house so we substituted greek yogurt and left out the green onions and processed cheese. Mash it with a fork and throw it back in at the end for two minutes with some bacon bits and cheese on top. All in all, good recipe to fiddle with.
