Persian Kabob

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2009
In all fairness we tweaked the recipe a lot. We used chicken instead of beef. We marinated overnight with ingredients other reviewers suggested like fresh mint, lemon juice, curry, garlic powder. Next time we'll use fresh garlic, more lemon juice w/ zest and authentic greek yogurt. Good starting point. Will try again. Thanks. Servied with Alton Brown's Lentil salad. Yum!

Spinach Muenster Quiche

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2009
Everyone loved it. Lots of requests for the recipe. I used 4 eggs to make it more quiche like. Otherwise followed the recipe. Can't wait to make again.

Easter Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2009
If you make the recipe as stated, its a disaster. You must read the reviews and follow thier advice. I didn't have time to read them so it was basically a waist of time and money. Both the bacon and hashbrowns should be pre-cooked. I figured that out myself with the bacon and did so but did not pre-cook the hashbrowns and they tasted raw in the casserole. I also thought it would have been very bland if I had not added salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic salt and dry mustard. Also needed to be baked in a 11 x 13 pan. This recipe is only worth trying if you follow other's advice and pre-cook bacon and hash browns.

Peppermint Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
I loved this recipe. I made them into balls and flattened them with a glass and baked. Added about 3 tsp peppermint extract for a more intense flavor. I melted 1 cup of milk chocolate and partially dipped half the batch of cookies into it. Dipped the other half batch into white chocolate. My daughter said the white chocolate made the cookie too sweet but I love white chocolate and thought it was fine. Maybe next year will try the blossem suggestion. Great holiday cookie. Thanks for sharing.

Gingerbread Men

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
Loved this recipe. I made it with the kids as cut-out gingerbread men. We made 4 large men and 12 smaller men. I would double the recipe next year. Then made them into balls and flatened them out. Drizzled with white icing. Came out great. Made about 30 cookies. Also used pumpkin pie pudding first time and butterscotch pudding the next. I liked the pumkin pie pudding better. I could not find pumpkin pie in stores after Christmas. This is my new gingerbread cookie recipe. Thanks for sharing.

Fiery Pork Skewers

Excellent. Very tender meat. My whole family loves it. Follwed the recipe but marinated for entire day. If you like it spicy add more red pepper but perfect for kids as is.

Margaritas on the Rocks

Reviewed: May 2, 2008
OMG! These are great! They doo hit you hard. One time I mistakely bought non-alcoholic triple-sec and I was able indulge a little longer because they weren't so strong. And still yummy. May I also suggest using a can of frozen lime-aid as mixer and I like to do it up in a blender. Enjoy!!!

loved it! ate it as a side dish. made the following changes: used 1 can of fiesta corn. 1 can black beans, 1 can pinto beans, 2 green onions, no red onions, no olive oil, 1 can of diced tomatoes with chilis then the rest of the ingredients. Super healthy, especially if following weight watchers. lots of fiber.

Cappuccino Bon-Bons

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2008
I have made this recipe 2x and I am done. I had a difficult time getting them out of muffin tin each time and they were hard. I pulled them out when the toothpick was clean. I used coffee instead of water and also used 2 tbls international coffee swiss mocha. I ended up frosting them to make them a little more appetizing.

Caramel Bars

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2008
This recipes needs lots of tweeking. I didn't think it was all that great but would make changes if I made it again. I doubled oatmeal/flour/brown sugar mix as most suggested. I also used butterscotch morsels instead of choc. I would use 1 full cup of morsels and 1 cup nuts and sprinkle coconut on caramel layer.

Wonderful Banana Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2003
Love this recipe but watch the baking time. I didn't read all the reviews and just set my oven timer for 1 hr as directed in recipe. The cake was black. Had to throw out and start over. Baked second cake for just 35 minutes as directed on cake box. Made with 3 bananas, very moist but not mushy at all. Made a frosting of 1 tub of coolwhip, 1 small pkg of bananacream instant pudding and 1 cup of milk. Sprinkled chopped walnuts on frosting. Took to a dessert pot luck and everyone loved it. Will make again.
