Split Pea and Ham Soup I

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2013
I absolutely love split pea soup. Growing up, my mom made this all the time. It's so easy to make. Like other reviewers I started using chicken broth. I think this recipe is even better than my mom's recipe. Thank you. Already made it three times. And it freezes well!

Heavenly Halibut

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2013
We followed this recipe minus onions. It was really, really good. As per other raters, i felt 1/4 cup butter was too much, which is my reason for four stars. Besides that, flavor was great and will def make again with less butter.

Dressing for Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2013
If i could give this ten stars, i would! Made several potato salads from this site, but nothing compares to this one. Followed dressing exactly. Then when added to potatoes, also added 2 hard boiled eggs and some sweet relish. Perfect. Will make this often. Easy and delicious. Thank you for recipe!

Wisconsin Cheese Soup II

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2012
I made a broccoli soup recently with the block cheese and I have to say, this was much, much better. The block was too rich and the sharp toned it down to a really good soup. Followed the recipe's exact ingredients, except I put carrots and broccoli in the ninja before adding to the chicken broth. This made it creamier, which is our style of soup. Thank you so much for sharing. I will definitely use this recipe again when it comes to getting my children to eat their broccoli!

Grandma's Egg Custard Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2012
My husband grew up in the south and raved about his grandmother's custard pie. I, on the other hand, grew up in the Republic of Panama, and never heard of a custard pie. So, I had to make this for him. It was the absolute easiest pie ever! He said it was one of his favorite things I've cooked to date. I can see why this one the prize in all custards! Thank you. I will make this again and again, I'm sure. Did not change a thing and it came out so creamy and good.

Butternut Squash Bisque

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2012
I was looking for a recipe similar to my moms, but this was just too thick. We like our soups a little more soupy. Had good flavor, but just not our taste. Im sure its awesome to many others though! If you lke much more thicker soup, then this one will be good.

Waikiki Meatballs

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2012
I have to give this a five because my husband LOVED these. The sauce thickened up perfectly. We omitted the pineapple chunks at the end and added more peppers (we love peppers in everything) and followed everyhting else. We used venicin, since my husband loves to hunt, and they did not taste gamey at all. I will def make again for him. We made white rice and poured over for a waikiki meal.

Fried Mozzarella Cheese Sticks

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2012
Made these a couple times already and had to review after my kids tried them tonight for the first time. They asked me to put this on a regular rotation of meals! They loved it! I followed everything, except substituted plain bread crumbs with a couple tablespoons of italian seasoning since i did not already have flavored bread crumbs. Little messy to make but very, very worth it! Thank you NANCI RENN!

Marinara Sauce II

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2012
I was looking for a marinara sauce to dip my mozarella cheesesticks (from this website) in this evening. I have to say...this was amazing!!! The only thing I did differently was chop the potatoes in the ninja before adding to pan and added about tablespoon of brown sugar as per another reviewer. It was so good!!! There is much left over, so I will use it in the lasagna my husband and I are making tomorrow (also from this website...Bob's Awesome Lasagna). Thank you so much for recipe. Don't think we will be buying the jar or can anymore.

Homemade Crispy Seasoned French Fries

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2012
This was really, really good. Fries came out perfectly crunchy. I gave it four because seasoning was little bland. After first batch, we added Tony Chachere's creole seasoning and that bumped it up to 5! Thank you for sharing!

Cream Puffs

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2012
If I could give it more stars, I would. Made these last night. They came puufy out of oven. Did follow advise of others and let cool in oven. They were perfect! Halved the cream mixture and put almond extract in one and lemon extract in the other. We injected the mixture inside, melted chocolate and drizzled on top. They are EXCELLENT! Thank you, Shellie. I will make these over and over again.

Corn Dogs

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2012
This was first time making corndogs. They came out perfect! Per a few reviewers, I did cook hotdogs first, dried them, then rolled in flour before dunking in batter. With leftover batter, we added diced onion, cajun seasoning and made hush puppies. Those wre excellent, too! Thank you for posting and thank you to all reviwers who add in!
