Egg Foo Young

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2013
I cut the recipe in half and did not use mushrooms; otherwise made as directed. We have never eaten Egg Foo Young before, so cannot make a comparison. It seemed to be a different variation of an omelet, we did enjoy the fresh ginger root and bean sprouts. Served with homemade plum sauce on the side. Thanks for sharing something new for us to try, INDIT.

Naked Shrimp Pasta

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2013
Made this today for our Othodox Christmas dinner. I had a little over a pound of medium shrimp and used homemade stewed tomatoes. We all loved the fresh spinach in this, it added just the right touch. It made a wonderful meal and there were no leftovers. Thanks for posting an easy, tasty option for our special day, Zaceks

Canja

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2013
Wonderful !! I used leftover chicken and leftover ham. Did not have fresh tomatoes; so added some homemade canned stewed tomatoes from the garden. We absolutely loved this and was easy to prepare for a busy day. There are leftovers for tomorrow; soup always tastes better the next day. Thanks for adding a new soup recipe for us, CORWYNN DARKHOLME!! This a keeper and one that will be used many times.

Ham Spread

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2013
My mom used to make this when we were growing up. Tasted just like I remembered. I made this yesterday as filling for the Salad Stuffed Shells from this site. Used leftover ham and diced the onion. Turned out wonderful and was a great addition to my tray. Thanks, Pat Schwarz for posting and bringing back a nice memory for me!

Salad Stuffed Shells

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2013
This rating is based mainly on the idea and presentation. Made this last night for appetizers served on deviled egg trays. I had a total of 44 large shells. The fillings I used were chicken salad, tuna salad, ham salad and a variation of the salad ingredients listed. This turned out beautiful! Was enjoyed by everyone and there were no leftovers. A keeper for sure. Thanks, Micki, for sharing a delicious, new idea!! Will be using this many times in the future.

Sassy Mini Shrimp Cocktail

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2013
Great snack for New Years Eve!! I doubled the recipe, didn't have celery flakes, so diced up some celery which added a nice crunch. I ended up with a little extra filling, served that as a spread on some crackers. These were gone in a flash. Thanks for sharing a wonderful new recipe for me, sassyoldlady. This is a definite keeper !!

Grandma's Ham

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2012
Our family has made ham like this for as long as I can remember. I use less brown sugar than called for and baste several times during baking. It tastes as good as it smells while baking. Served with Pineapple Bake from this site. Thanks for posting, Dawn

Pineapple Bake

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2012
Made this for a different side dish with our baked ham dinner today . I cut the sugar in half as some reviewers suggested. Thought I had crushed pineapple, but it was tidbits; turned out to be a little chunkier. This was well received by all and just a bit leftover for lunch tomorrow. Next time, I will try with the crushed pineapple as directed. Thanks, Santa Maria Cook, for a delicious new recipe to try.

Shrimp Verde

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2012
This was so simple and easy to make. I used about 1 and 1/2 pounds of medium sized shrimp and served over angel hair pasta. Additional parmesan was on the side for each individual to add to their own taste. A great meal with a simple side salad to serve on a very busy day. Thank you for posting, Maggie Gee.

Fruit Sherbet

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2012
I needed an easy dessert to serve today. I did not have lemon juice, so used equal parts of orange and pineapple juice. Also reduced the sugar as some reviewers suggested. This was perfect after 6 hours in the freezer; I did stir it about every two hours. There were no leftovers. I think this would be very good to add in a punch of some sort instead of ice cubes. Thanks for sharing.

POLENTA,

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2012
I cut the recipe in half and made as directed. Served with the beef and sauce on top. Took this to an elderly neighbor to share for lunch; we both loved it. She said it was the best "cornbread" she ever eaten and enjoyed it with the sauce on top. She wanted the leftovers, so I had brought home an empty dish. Will make the full recipe next time. manella, thanks for sharing and making my neighbor a wonderful lunch!!

Sauerkraut Surprise Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2012
I used leftover saurkraut and took it to work for our Guess the Ingredient potluck lunch. Although I did not taste it because I cannot eat chocolate; I came home with an empty pan.... so that definitely says alot. Out of 12 people tasting this, no one guessed the secret ingredient and all we amazed when I told them. This was recommended by several from the Buzz and thanks goes to them and to the recipe submitter JJOHN32 for a fun recipe to try.

Italian Sausage Soup with Tortellini

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2012
I used homemade beef broth, can of Italian stewed tomatoes, and skipped the wine. This turned out to very tasty with some fresh garlic bread hot from the oven. I took some for lunch the next day and then we finished it for dinner. Leftover soup is always better the next day. Thanks for posting !
