I am a mother of 5 working on my Master's degree in Cultural Studies. I have a professional diploma in pastry and desserts and especially love baking. Spending a couple of years in France in my 20's only added to my love of fine food! Travel is one of my favourite things to do but I only get the chance every so often.
My favorite things to cook
Italian food, French favourites, Greek and desserts. I love baking bread and baguettes too as long as the recipes are not too labour intensive.
My favorite family cooking traditions
In my own growing up, we had good meals that were quite basic. I enjoy using fresh herbs and garlic. I especially love introducing my kids to new types of cuisine and trying new recipes.
My cooking triumphs
Anytime I make something new and all 7 of us at the table like it, I consider it a success!
My cooking tragedies
I once baked a loaf of rye bread that turned out so hard, a friend hung it in his garden and after the birds had eaten the inside, they used it as a birdhouse.
