Incredibly Easy Chicken and Noodles

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2011
Great comfort food - incredibly easy...used rotisserie chicken from the grocery deli and frozen Reames noodles to make this a quick meal. Perfect for cool weather or when you're feeling under the weather.

Mound Bars

Excellent, used another reviewer idea to place unbroken hershey bars on top as soon as it came out of the over and it worked great. Probably not the cheapest way but looked the best

Could use something else - can't put my finger on it. Not bad - but not the best I've ever had

Teriyaki Pork Tenderloin

Tasted like soy sauce to us.....and I followed the recipe to a T....wasn't terrible but I get more flavor from the bottled marinades than this.

Black-Eyed Pea Gumbo

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2011
I changed it pretty substantially - but we loved it.....I used three cans of rotel, 4 cans of peas, one full carton chicken broth (in the cardboard container it's probably 32 oz) sauteed my onion, pepper, celery, garlic and two lbs smoked sausage in olive oil then poured in the peas with liquid, rotel and simmered down for about 20 minutes......I had already prepared chicken flavor rice-a-roni from a previous dinner and probably had about 2 cups left....I stirred this in and sprinkled with creole seasoning (no msg kind)....I didn't add any other seasoning to it.....it had the right amount of heat and I think the rice-a-roni really added a nice flavor to the rest of the soup and helped to thicken it....I then simmered another 20 minutes until it was as thick as we liked it.

New Year Black Eyed Peas

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
Great recipe - I didn't have the peppers so I swapped out the plain tomatoes for a can of rotel. it still had a nice kick. I also used 2 cloves of real garlic. My boyfriend and his boss ate 3 bowls each and his boss took the leftovers home!

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2008
Since I didn't follow the recipe exactly I am going to give this 4 stars. I think I probably used too much garlic, water and olive oil as the sauce tasted watery to me. I will try it again following the recipe exactly.

Texas Jambalaya

Very good, I did change the meats to andouille, chicken & shrimp because my family prefers it. I did add a little cajun seasoning as well for an extra kick.

Breakfast Bread Pudding

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2007
I liked this when I added the sugar, cinnamon & vanilla as suggested by a previous poster. Something I didn't realize was that the cream cheese cubes don't really break down and if you make your cubes too big you have big globs of cream cheese in it. Next time I will make much smaller cubes and will roll them in sugar. I think a slightly sweetened cream cheese would be better.

Flatlander Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2006
I'll give this 4 stars. I use a 29 ounce can of tomato puree instead of sauce. This will make the chili much thicker, I've been using this recipe for years and it is very good.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2006
I make this all the time, I cook on the stovetop and then spread in a 9x13 pan to bake because it goes so fast there's no need for a crock. I also add extra chicken. I have always served it with Fritos Scoops and celery.

Hoagie Bake

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2004
The only reason I'm not giving it 5 * is because of the greasiness. I did use pizza dough for the bottom crust and crescent rolls for the top. It turned out very nice, will probably do leaner cuts of meat next time though.
