Sandy's Frito Pie

Reviewed: May 23, 2015
Great recipe. I made it per specs with only one slight change. I added some beer to the meat mixture. Probably a half cup or so. Only thing I would change is to either add some tomatoes or add more salsa. But that could just be my tastes. I would definitely make this again.

Simple Grilled Lamb Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2015
Just tried this out. It was great. I followed the recipe to a T. Only thing I would do different it to let it marinate overnight. Other than that, it's perfect. The chops were delicious. I took the onions from the marinate and added them to some potatoes and fried them.

Peanut Butter Chews

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2015
I made two batches of this recipe. In both I used 1 cup of peanut butter. Thinking that would make it taste more peanut buttery. I tried adding m&ms to both batches as one reviewer mentioned. It didn't work at all. When you try to mix in the m&ms they get crushed. I know that doesn't affect the taste at all, but it does affect how they look. They end up looking bad. The second batch I made, I thought of crushing the corn flakes, thinking that would make it easier to mix in the m&ms. I even used my hands, as opposed to the spoon I used the first time, to mix them in the second time around. That didn't change anything. Plus the m&ms don't stay mixed in very well. They have a tendency to fall out more than stay in. Outside of that, it's just average. Even with the additional half cup of peanut butter, it's still not very peanut buttery.

Graham Crust Butter Tarts

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2015
Holy cow, these are good. I doubled the recipe, making two batches. There really is only two, rather small, problems with them. One, they are a bit too sweet. I would leave out the sugar in the graham cracker crumbs. The second problem, the shells are a bit of a hassle. They are kinda crumbly. I accidentally baked the first batch of shells two minutes longer than what the recipe calls for. Those stayed together better than the second batch I baked. The second batch i had to put into paper muffin cups to keep them in one piece. Definitely use the raisins and nuts. They would be good without them, but are much better with them.

Creamy Eggnog Fudge

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2015
The only thing I changed was using rum instead of vanilla, and halved the nutmeg and cinnamon as suggested by others, which should have no affect on the outcome, other than the taste. What I ended up with was a crumbly mess.

Fudge Puddles

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2014
I made these exactly to the recipe and they are awesome. I used a half teaspoon to measure out the dough, and it's the perfect amount. I also used a one quarter of a teaspoon to make the wells. I put the chocolate mix in a cake icer bag, just squeezed out the needed amount. Only real problem I had was too much fudge left over. I only used about 2/3rds of the fudge.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2014
I made these to the recipe. They are kinda bland. The topping turned into a disaster. I spooned the topping mixture on top of the dough. When the muffins baked, the top of them becomes rounded, and the crumb mixture fell off or melted and ran to the sides. I ended up with almost no topping on the muffins at all. The topping is 3/4ths of the taste. Definitely will not do these again.

Guyanese Lime Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2014
These taste great. I did have one problem, the dough was a little dry. I made them exactly to the recipe, without deviation. The dough was too dry. I usually bake in batches of 5. As I went along, the later batches got so dry I had to moisten my hands to get them to stay together. Other than that, the cookies are delicious.

Chewy Crispy Coconut Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2013
I've made these several times. I've followed the recipe and made them with some changes. They are great both ways. I made two changes. I used rice krispies instead of corn flakes, and I added a teaspoon of rum flavoring. The rum flavor makes them amazingly good. People at work tell me they're the best cookies they've ever had.

Easy Mexican Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2012
OMG! This is good. I made it pretty much to the recipe. I did make a few changes based on some suggestions. I only used 1 cup of salsa, which seemed plenty. I added a can of corn, and used a can of diced tomatoes with chilis in it. I mixed the vegetables, minus the beans, together like a salad, and spread that over the sour cream. I added some cilantro and lime juice to the veggies for a little added southwest flavor. My only problem with the recipe is the chips for the bottom layer. It tasted good, but they didn't stick together when I spooned it out. Might try some flour tortillas next time.

Cream Cheese Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2012
I followed the recipe exactly. They are okay, but nothing special. I agree with some of the other reviewers, the dough tastes much better than the final product. You can't even taste the cream cheese in them. If it wasn't for the chocolate chips they would have no taste at all.

Angel Food Candy

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2012
I don't see what he big deal is about this candy. The candy itself just tasted like sugar. The only thing that gave it any flavor was the chocolate. Might as well cover bread with the chocolate and eat that, it would taste the same. The candy crumbled into dust when I tried to break it. I put the candy in a zip loc bag to break it up. It ended up with sharp shards, almost like broken glass, and a bunch of crumbs in the bag. Looked nothing like the nice squared of candy in the pics. I guess the people giving this big ratings are being influenced by childhood memories, based on the comments they make in their reviews because I see nothing special about it.

Milly's Oatmeal Brownies

I made these for some people at work. They raved about them. One even paid me to make some for her grandchildren for Christmas. I didn't change a thing in the recipe. I used chocolate chips and walnuts. They were perfect.

Nacho Meatballs

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2011
I've made this several times for parties. Everyone loved it. I did use store bought meatballs. The only other changes I made was to add a can of chili's, lime juice, and cilantro. It's great for New Years eve and Super bowl parties.
