Sweet Blackberry and Brandy Sauce

Reviewed: May 15, 2010
Very nice. I didn't have any brandy, so I replaced it with vanilla. Great over cheesecake.

Roasted New Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2009
This is the second time I've made these potatoes, and they have been excellent both times. My 15-year-old was skeptical at first . . . couldn't believe there wasn't some "funky spice or something" on them. She tried them anyway and loved them, along with the rest of the family. I followed the recipe as written.

Real Italian Calzones

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2009
Our family loves this recipe. I make 8 smaller calzones with each recipe so that family members can include their own favorite fillings. These work GREAT for my daughter's school lunches. I add ricotta, mozz cheese, thinly sliced turkey pepperoni, and a little italian seasoning. I make a double-batch and freeze them individually wrapped in press and seal. They reheat in 30 seconds in school microwaves without getting mushy. Much cheaper than hot pockets! They also make easy afterschool snacks.

Thai Pork Satay

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2004
This recipe was a big hit. I used chicken instead of pork, and the flavors were still great. I've made these three times, and they've turned out wonderfully each time. I also used chopped cilantro instead of the coriandor seeds.

Rhubarb Custard Pie IV

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2003
This pie was excellent. I followed the recipe as written and didn't have any trouble. I had never had rhubarb before, but this pie made me a fan. This recipe even got the "thumbs up" from my 87-year-old neighbour. She even said it was worth cheating on her diet for!

Baked Fresh Cherry Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2003
I made this for Father's Day, and it was a big hit with all the men: Dad, Husband, and Brother-in-law. I used a combo of 4/5 sour cherries and 1/5 bing cherries. Really good.

Stewed Squash

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2003
This squash has wonderful flavor. I used pre-cooked bacon pieces and sauteed them with the onions in a tablespoon of olive oil. I also reduced the water to one cup so that it wasn't so "soupy." The squash was great over pasta and then topped with marinara sauce. A good way to give squash some flavor without all the fat of the typical squash casserole.
