Megan's Granola

Oh my gosh, yum! Only changes I made were omitting the sunflower seeds and maple syrup, and adding about a cup of coconut instead. I also baked it a little longer and then turned the oven off and left it in another 1/2 hour. It turned out great and my three boys who had declared that they didn't like granola earlier in the day, all asked for it for dessert instead of a cookie! Next time I will try cutting back on the sugar and the oil to make it a titch healthier, but only so I don't feel guilty eating it every day because it is so good!

Berry Almond Bars

Sorry, I didn't think these were good at all. Because I didn't have time to make something else, I had to serve them to my book club and I was a little embarrassed and did not receive one comment on them. My husband thought they were ok but I thought they were WAY too sweet with very little raspberry flavor.

Overnight Coffee Cake

I doubled the recipe for a 9X13 pan. It is very tasty. The directions are in the wrong order though. You should prepare the pan the night before and refrigerate the batter in the pan. I was worried about the topping sinking in so I didn't add it until this morning about 20 minutes into baking but I think that was a mistake because the sugar is just sort of sitting on the top. It still tastes good but is not a Wow-er. I still give it 4 stars because that part is my fault for not following the directions.

Macaroni and Cheese Salad

I thought this was really good. I made it exactly as written and I think next time I would try cucumbers or peas instead of peppers, but that is personal preference. The dressing is very good and I think that's because of the Beau Monde. I made this salad as a side to barbeque ribs and it was an awesome summer Saturday night supper!

Sylvia's Ribs

This was very good! But it made a TON more sauce than necessary. Like 4 times as much as I needed for four very meaty country-style ribs. So I will use some of the leftovers for chicken breasts this week and then freeze the rest for next time. I followed the recipe exactly and it was very tasty. I made the ribs with the Macaroni and Cheese Salad from this site and my husband said it was the best meal I had made for him in eight years of marriage!

Beef Barley Vegetable Soup

This is GREAT! Even my husband who is not a big stew or soup fan, says this is awesome everytime we have it. I made it during a Big Cook, preparing for our new baby and it freezes very well. I believe we got 5 meals out of one recipe. I made it exactly by the recipe and the only thing I would do differently next time is add more barley. Thanks for the great winter recipe!

Sesame Pasta Chicken Salad

I thought this was pretty good but my husband didn't really like it. My kids wouldn't touch it but I expected that (they are 5 and 2). I halved the recipe and added celery, otherwise followed it exactly. If I make it again, I will leave out the cilantro.
