Buttery Soft Pretzels

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2011
We have been trying to find an at-home recipe for pretzels that taste like Auntie Anne's. This is it!! I would give these 10 stars for taste if I could!! I made 2 batches for my daughter's birthday party and everyone loved them!! We did some regular, some with parmesan and garlic on them, and some dipped in butter and cinnamon sugar after cooking. Delicious!! This makes a lot and I only used the first batch at the party, so the other sat all afternoon and I made them this evening. They were a little bit chewier than the 'fresh' batch, but still wonderful! I did give 5 stars because they were so awesome, but 5 c of flour is too much!! I only used 4 c and still had to add a little more liquid. We loved them and will be making them on a regular basis!! Thank you, Christa Rose!!!!

These were so easy to make and so delicious!!! 4 or 5 cookies would be plenty to crush for the topping, though. Will definitely make again!!!

Root Beer Float Cake II

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2010
This was very good!! I will make it again for sure! I only gave it 4 stars because I added root beer extract as recommended and am glad I did. It would not have had enough flavour without it. I made icing using Nutriwhip (1 c with 1 c brown sugar and 1 tsp flavouring) and used the root beer extract rather than vanilla. Delicious!! Some mentioned the cake was dry. 4 min seems a long time to beat it. That did make it fluffy but maybe beating about 2 min after blending would make it more moist. Anyway it is, I like it!!

Turkey Pot Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2010
This was the first time I've made pot pie and it was a success! I used some different ingredients... potatoes, frozen peas and carrots, celery, and minced onion... but followed the directions. I made my own crust, too. I made it in a 9x13 basically doubled the ingredients. Delicious!! Served it for guests and they loved it, too! A keeper for me!

Four Cheese Macaroni

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2010
This was really good!! I did use only 1 egg, just sharp Cheddar and Monteray Jack cheeses and not as much of the Velveeta. I also followed suggestions and warmed the half and half. I added the velveeta and about 2/3 of the shredded cheese and melted. Then mixed everything together. It is not dry at all but very good reheated, too. It's a keeper for me!! update 5/10 - melt 1/2 c marg, crush one sleeve of Club Buttery Garlic crackers, combine and top mac & cheese with that. Yummmmmmy!!

Quick and Easy Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2007
This was delicious! A real hit with my family, so a keeper for me. The only ingredient change was no celery as I didn't have any. I did bring the stock (used about 8 c homemade), carrots, chicken and seasonings to boil, then added the egg noodles for about 15 minutes. It was great with my homemade cheesy garlic biscuits!

Apple Orchard Punch

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2006
This is delicious! Not as sweet as the usual drink mix and sugar punches... just better! My Thanksgiving company loved it. The second time I made it, I used 48 oz. of apple juice to make it go farther. Still delicious!!

Dash's Donair

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2006
Thanks for a great recipe! These are awesome! Be sure to add diced tomatoes and onions to your donair. Try what the last reviewer suggested... donair pizza is very good. It's been a year since I had one while visiting family in NB, but I'm so happy that now I can make them any time. This deserves more than 5 stars!! About the sauce... mix the sugar and garlic slowly into the milk with a whisk using a non-metal bowl. Add the vinegar one teaspoon at a time and whisk gently only 2 or 3 turns after each. By the 4th tsp, it will be thick!

Easiest BBQ Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2006
"Pork chops that melt in your mouth" was a comment from a guest when I served these. My husband loves them, too. I did substitute about 1/4 c of the ketchup with bbq sauce the second time, but all ketchup was fine, too. Easy, delicious meat to serve for family or company.

Slow Cooker Venison Sloppy Joes

This is so good! This was awesome made with steaks and cutlets. I pulled it apart at 7 hours and let it simmer another hour. Tonight I used ground venison and it was a hit at our potluck. I used 4 lbs of meat and 2 1/2 times the other ingredients. Delicious!!

I made this "Christmas" Leftover Casserole. I make garlic ranch mashed potatoes and had those left from Christmas and used them with the ham and other ingredients as listed. My husband really enjoyed it and the kids said it was "good."

Oatmeal Pudding Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2006
These are great! My kids helped me and we wanted to eat them all while they were still warm. A couple of them were forgotten in the container and were still edible a week later... not many cookies are! I used quick cooking oats as that was all that I had. We will be making these again!!

Baked Whole Cauliflower

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2005
I found this recipe on this site 2 years ago and have made it many times since. I do steam the florets just until tender crisp, then place in baking dish, brush with melted butter and sprinkle seasonings on. Even my children like it. Be sure not to overcook the cauliflower in the first step!
