Italian Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2008
I made this for guests tonight and it was really good. My husband, who doesn't like spinach had seconds. I used red onions, and Newman's Light Balsamic dressing. Very good, and good for us too! Thanks for the recipe.

Pork with Peach and Black Bean Salsa

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2008
Super good! I served this for dinner to guest and they raved. I omitted the corn meal and added a bit of chili powder with the salt and pepper. I used one peach and added some mango salsa with the regular salsa. I served it over brown rice, and added the Italian Spinach Salad from this site. YUMMY!

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: May 27, 2008
I made this for a welcome dinner for our new neighbors. I used fresh basil and oregano from the garden and soaked the noodles in hot water like others recommended. I added a nice salad, steamed asparagus and garlic bread, as well as the deep dish brownies from this site. It was such a good dinner that the new neighbors asked if they could come to dinner every Sunday night! Thanks for a great recipe, this will be the only lasagna I make. I used to make a good one, but this is a GREAT one.

Peanut Butter Vegetable Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2008
I bought a cooked chicken from Costco and was going to make chicken noodle soup, when I ran across this recipe. WOW! I didn't have potatoes on hand so I used sweet potatoes. I also added some cumin, red curry paste and rice. It was perfect! I can't wait to make this again and take it to a potluck. It will be the hit of the party! Thanks for sharing this great recipe.

Slow Cooked Corned Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2008
Since I can't rate this more than 5 stars I'll rate it here. ********** 10 stars. I made this for New Year's Day exactly as called for. After I took out the corned beef I added carrots, red potatoes and cabbage and cooked for about an hour. It was VERY good. I made leftover packets for work and it was even better the next several days. I gave some to my dad and he said he ate every speck. Thanks for a great recipe, I'm making it again today.

Hot Spiced Cider

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2007
I made this for the large Thanksgiving gathering and it got rave reviews! I couldn't find cider, so I used juice instead. I made it in the crock pot and it simmered for several hours making the house smell terrific! I am making it again for our Christmas celebration tonight. Thanks for this recipe, I have doubled it both times with none left over.

Party Punch IX

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2007
I made two batches of this punch for our housewarming party, and we still ran out! I had to use a neighbor's freezer to hold it all, but it was worth it! I took it out in the morning as others suggested and broke it up in chunks prior to putting it in the punch bowl. I could hardly keep it stocked and people are still talking about it asking for the recipe a week later. I had lots of yummy food (all from this site) and people liked the punch the best. This will be the only punch recipe I make from now on. Thanks for sharing it.

Thanks so much, this will be a favorite when people come to lunch.

Dixie Pork Chops

Oh My, this was the best dinner I've had in a year! I made it exactly as directed except for adding a sprinkle of cinnamon. Wow! I did use cranberries and the house smelled great, and dinner was a HUGE hit. I can't wait to make it again and invite guests. Thanks for posting this wonderful recipe.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2007
My house smells terrific! I made this for a housewarming party and it's fantastic. I did use half the oil and half applesauce. I added raisins and walnuts and sprinkled a little cinnamon sugar on top before baking (as others had suggested) and it gets 5 out of 5 stars! Even though it's September, it smells like Christmas!

Herb Rubbed Sirloin Tip Roast

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2005
This was terrific. I BBQ'd this indirectly and served with grilled vegetables, to my boss. She loved it and so did my family. My daughter thought it was a bit spicy, so next time I will cut down on the ceyenne pepper and up the garlic. I thought it was so good, I am making it again tonight! Thanks for a great recipe.

OOOHhhhh my gosh, this was good! I added garlic to the onion, and a can of black beans to the soup. This was the BEST soup I have ever had. I crushed some tortilla chips on top, and was as happy as a clam! It is almost gone, I have to make it again!

Almond Chocolate Coconut Cookies II

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2003
These are terrific cookies. I made them and took them into work and got rave reviews. Even people who aren't cookie fans couldn't get enough of them. I am going shopping today to buy more ingredients so I can make them tonight. I only had about 2 1/2 cups of chocolate chips at home, so that's all I added, and the recipe was perfect. Thanks for sharing a terrific cookie recipe, Brenda!

California Grilled Veggie Sandwich

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2003
This was great! I have never made anything like this before, but my mother was coming over for dinner and is a mostly vegetarian. I found this and will make it again and again. I was a bit confused about the slicing part, but I winged it and sliced it sideways, then layered the sandwich and cut it in wedges. It was perfect. I didn't use all of the dressing, just enough to moisten the bread. It was easy and tasty. I served some fruit on the side and had a wonderful summer dinner. Thanks for sharing, Heather!
