Country-Style Steak

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2014
I like this with the broth added. I used the Knorr condensed version and added water. My grandmother always made this with just plain water, and no garlic, but this was better. She always just covered her skillet and cooked it on low for a long time, but I like putting it in the oven because it doesn't stick to the pan as much.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: May 14, 2014
I have made this same recipe for years. Sometimes I brown the roast first and also add some worcestershire sauce. I usually only add about half a soupcan of water though. I like to layer carrots under the roast too. It has always been liked by everyone. I have also used Golden Mushroom soup.

Easter Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2014
I made this with canned chopped green chiles because I didn't have bell peppers on hand and everyone loved it. I had to blot off some bacon grease from the top, and possibly some of the cheddar oil, but after doing that it was perfect. We like picante sauce on top, and even my picky daughter ate 2 helpings.

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2013
I made this almost like it was printed, just left out the beer which I didn't have and used 3 lbs. hamburger meat and added some extra sage to make it like sausage, which I didn't have. I had to use a 2 in. piece of real bacon diced up since I didn't have bacon bits. My husband really liked it and so did my kids. I made this once with only 1 can of beans and 1 can of tomatoes and it was good that way too. I don't think I will use any other chili recipe from now on.

Cha Cha's White Chicken Chili

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2013
We loved it. I got the mild nacho style jalapenos and mashed 1 can of the beans and added some frozen corn, after reading the reviews. I didn't change the other ingredients except that I used about 4 oz. of cream cheese stirred in at the end since it was the only cheese I had at the time. Hubby brought home some cheddar later and we used it on top. Due to picky kids who don't like onions, I sauteed the onions then used my immersion blender on them with some of the broth and they never knew they were in there. I use this trick a lot, and sometimes I add the garlic to the onion mix to blend because my husband doesn't like garlic or onions. What they don't know won't hurt them I guess!
