Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: May 5, 2004
Yowza, I'm definitely not a meat-lovin' kind of person, but this thing had me coming back for seconds and thirds! I made a 2.5lb roast, cut the recipe in half, and stuck it in the crock pot for 8 hours. The result: AHHH SWEET MYSTERY OF LIFE, AT LAST, I HAVE FOUND YOU!

Indian Dahl with Spinach

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2004
Mmmmm! Mmmmm! Mmmm! I am eating the leftovers right now and loving every bite! I used frozen spinach instead of fresh and I added a bit too much water so I compensated by adding more of each spice. Very tasty!

Easy Chocolate Chip Pound Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2003
Hmmmm...did I do something wrong? I followed the recipe exactly, with the exception of using the mini chips (as suggested). I guess I wouldn't go so far as to say it was awful, I think maybe kids would like it, but I found it really kind of oily and spongy for my tastes, not at all like a pound cake. I also used a sculpted bundt pan from williams-sonoma, which in retrospect was not a good idea, because the cake didn't hold very well. But the crust part that formed at the top was pretty tasty, so it wasn't a complete loss.

Butternut Squash with Onions and Pecans

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2003
I have never cooked a squash in my life and halfway through trying to chop through the darned thing without losing a finger I decided that this was one recipe that I'd never make again. Its just not worth losing a limb over, you know? But after the dust had settled and I had my first bite of this amazing concoction, I had to change my mind. THIS IS DEFINITELY WORTH LOSING A FINGER. Maybe even two. This was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend following the recipe and using toasted pecans, fresh parsley, and butter - you won't regret it. Thank you, Christine L.!!!!

Single Crust Peach Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2003
This was fantastic! I used fresh peaches that I picked from my parents back yard and added a lattice top to the pie and it turned out delicious. It got rave reviews from everyone at my dad's labor day BBQ. Thank you so much Lori!

Wow! I used to hate meatloaf as a kid but I saw this recipe and my curiosity got the best of me - LOVED IT! I substituted ground turkey instead of beef and it turned out spectacular!

Quick and Easy Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2003
This was incredibly easy and tasty and makes a big ol' pot of this stuff! I cut the cheese down to 5 slices, and it turned out delicous, even cold! Great recipe to have on hand when you're in a hurry.

Awesome and Easy Creamy Corn Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2003
This stuff is fantastic! Quick, easy, and painless, it tastes like a creamy delicious cornbread. Make sure to let it bake to a golden color, that's the best part, the toasted crusty outside with the creamy center...makes my mouth water just thinking about it!

Chicken Pot Pie IV

Quick, easy, and incredibly delicious! I substituted a 10 oz. can of chicken and cheddar-flavored veggie shreds and the results were fantastic! Leftovers can be heated in the toaster oven too, a plus.

Three Bean Soup

Delicious and very easy! Makes a big pot, which I meant to freeze for later but I ended up eating it all within a couple of days. Will definitely make this one again.

Egg Scramble

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2003
Well, considering I had no cheese, no cayenne pepper, and no hot sauce, this turned out exceptionally well! I added some curry out of shame for the lack of ingredients and was surprised to find that it blended deliciously with the egg and spinach flavors. Very good!
