About this Cook
I am an English teacher for a middle school in the area. I love what I do, and I love to get kids hooked on books. I also love my two labrador retrievers, Homer and Scout, and my husband.
My favorite things to cook
I love to make desserts- cakes, cookies, pies, cheesecake, breads, anything sweet.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite thing to do is cook Sunday dinner, and have everyone over. We always eat too much, laugh too much, and have a great time.
My cooking triumphs
My cooking triumph was Valentine's Day. I made seared Sea Scallops searved with steamed asparagus and risotto milanese. For dessert? Why chocolate dipped strawberries of course.
My cooking tragedies
I burned frozen peas once. No joke. That is up there with burning water.

Melt In Your Mouth Blueberry Cake
This was good. The batter was really, really thick, but it turned out well. It did taste like a big blueberry muffin though.

Hungarian Mushroom Soup
This was a big hit, but I only gave it 4 because we had to tweak it a bit. I added some sherry to give the flavor some depth, and a bit more paprika as well. I would definitely recommend this one, and I will be making it for my eastern European Mother in law who loved it, again. Thanks for sharing!

Eggplant Rounds
This had a very nice smoky flavor when we grilled it... however, it was a bit dry. That was easily fixed by serving it with a little chipotle mayo.
