Kheer (Rice Pudding)

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2009
Great taste and texture! I used 3/4c rice and 14oz can of coconut milk with an equal part of regular milk and added a few green cardamom pods that were removed at the end. Followed directions as posted (only needed to simmer 20 minutes). Finished off recipe with crushed almonds and a dash of vanilla. I was a little hesitant because I don't normally like coconut but the flavor blends uniquely and subtly with the cardamom and almond. Will definitely make again.

Peanut Caramel Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2008
Very soupy and greasy, even with less butter in the caramel. You might be better off stirring caramel squares in with apples in regular apple crisp.

Creamy Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2008
I've feel it's important to rate a recipe after several attempts, and I'm not disappointed. I've made my best batch when sugar was decreased to a little less than 1/4 cup. As suggested, I added salt to the water for cooking the rice and made everything in the same pot. Once done, I seasoned with cinnamon, nutmeg, and about 1/8t of fresh ground/crushed cardamom. Great flavor and creamy texture yet not too sweet!
