False Cabbage Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2006
I made this recipe and the only thing I added was baking time. I placed it in a baking dish and baked it in the oven for 30 minutes. It was a yummy way to eat the time consuming original cabbage rolls with less work. It also reheats real well. Put into individual servings and freeze them. VOILA! Lunch on the go.

Pumpernickel Spinach Dip II

I use an extra loaf of cut up crusty Italian bread to go along side this dip when I serve it at parties. I also make extra dip to refill the bread bowl as it is eaten. There never seems to be enough.

Five Cup Salad

OK, so it's another form of Ambrosia but it's still yummy isn't it? If your kids aren't coconut fans, omit the coconut and add more marshmallows. I did and it was great!

Coconut Ambrosia Salad

This is always a hit at family gatherings. I like to add a can of fruit cocktail to this recipe to give it even more pizazz. I include the juice and add a handful more marshmallows so it isn't too juicy. It's a regular recipe used around here.

Very yummy! I added a few extra sunflower seeds and raisins to entice the kids more. IT WORKED! They loved it and so did the grown-ups.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2005
We found that this was a real good recipe, however, I did tweak it a little bit. After it cooked for 4 hrs, I saw the broth was thin, so I removed some of the juice. After tasting it, I found it quite bland. I chose to use chinese 5 spice, celery salt and black pepper for the seasonings, and it was spectacular. I also added fresh mushrooms. Next time, I might add more mushrooms, forget the stewed tomatoes, and use Tomato soup instead of the juice.

Yummy.....I used extra butter in the pan.....I mean you only live once :) ...and instead of the macadamias, I used cashews...how yummy! I am going to try this recipe again but use almonds next time. You never know...Quick and simple!

Chicken Cordon Bleu I

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2003
A hit in my family of 5, including a 4 yr old, the pickiest of all...The chicken cooked for 50 minutes..adding to its crispiness..and I didn't use toothpicks to secure them, making them easier to eat. I used sliced cooked ham and processed swiss cheese to cut costs and found it to be a bit salty. I will try this again and again, however, I will cut down the amount of salt. It was totally simple to prepare! TY
