Apple Orchard Punch

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2003
Perhaps with the addition of champagne this is tasty, but this blend pretty much tastes how you would expect: like juice mixed with ginger ale. It does present well and the color is excellent. Otherwise I didn't find it very exciting.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2003
After over a 100 sterling reviews of this tilapia my two cents doesn't seem necessary, but for the doubters I would have to agree this is pretty darn tasty. So simple. I followed the recipe exactly and didn't alter any of the ingredients. I did add a pinch extra parmesan, but really, can you ever have too much parmesan? The flavor was excellent, prep time a breeze and all diners at my house were pleased and cleaned their plates. I will make this again and recommend others try it too! Tilapia can taste so boring, but this recipe added the punch it needs without an overpowering flavor. Yummy.

Orange Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2003
These taste pretty good! It's a simple recipe and everyone enjoys a break from the same old, same old chocolate chip cookie. I would advise to check the cookies about 10 minutes into baking, as the 16 minute bake time was WAY too long in my oven. I also added another teaspoon of orange zest for a little extra bite--though anymore would have resulted in a far too bitter taste. Plus, I was very pleased how well these kept their shape on the baking sheet! Nice recipe, thanks Rosina.

Anna's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2003
I seem to be the odd one out here, but I didn't think these were anything special. It's pretty standard fare and I thought they were a little bit flour-y. Might have just been me though! They'll get eaten but I won't make them again...

Easy Snack Wraps

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2003
Tasty and easy snack for a small function or lunch. I pretty much echo the comments by fellow reviewers: FRESH tortillas are a must, skip the tomato unless serving immediately, definitely add powdered ranch (far, far too bland without it) and make sure you've plenty of toothpicks at hand. Using pre-shredded lettuce (as recommended here) makes this a far easier task. Also, if you want to eat these as more of a meal than a bite-sized snack, use burrito size tortillas and slice into two pieces. Overall these are pretty tasty and the sky's the limit for ingredients! Don't forget the powdered ranch though!!

Butter Cookies II

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2003
True, I'm a novice baker, but these cookies turned out awfully bland. They didn't taste bad but they certainly weren't anything special. Maybe to accompany a cup of hot tea they might do the trick, but these wouldn't be anywhere near my top pick of tasty cookies. Overall I'd say to skip these unless you're in the mood for a fairly tasteless, dull treat.

Grandma's Gingersnaps

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2003
Holy cow these are delicious!! I'm a DISASTER in the kitchen, so if I can make these taste good anybody can! I like my ginger cookies with an extra bite so I added another tablespoon of ginger and threw in some allspice as suggested by fellow reviewers. I'm not sure how much of a 'snap' these have as they were a little cake-y in the middle, but that's how I like them. If you want them more crispy I'd make the dough balls slightly smaller and bake the full ten minutes...and they DO spread, so six per sheet is all that will fit. The taste is delightful and would be perfect with a cup of tea. Absolutely yummy! Get yourself in the kitchen and make these now!
