Spinach, Red Lentil, and Bean Curry

This is a good recipe. I left out the beans as I thought the lentils were enough. I do agree with the other posters that it's a bit bland. That can be fixed by either adding more onions or more spices. The next time I'll double the onions and add some cumin seed to them while frying. Also, many years ago an Indian friend told me that the secret to Indian food is frying the onions until they are a deep, golden brown and THEN adding the garlic and ginger.

Roasted Chicken with Risotto and Caramelized Onions

I liked it. At first I thought there was too much vinegar...but it seemed to mellow after a few minutes. I ended up enjoying the dish. I will make it again.

Take those two stars with a grain of salt. I'm NOT a seasoned baker...so this could have been my fault. They didn't rise enough for some reason..and turned out flat.

Whole Wheat Beer Bread

This LOOKS really good...so I gave it two stars instead of one. However, the taste is rather...uh, bad. My husband wouldn't eat it. I wonder about that 4.5 teaspoons of baking powder. Is that correct? It has a very heavy aftertaste of something...and I noticed that others have also commented on it. I don't think it's the beer. I think it's the baking powder.

Steak Stir-Fry

I live in Greece and it's just about impossible to find good Chinese-style food here. This more than satisfied by craving! I served it with basmati rice and pretended it was Chinese take-out :)

Banana Cake VI

Fantastic. I didn't make the frosting...but my husband thought it would be very good served warm with vanilla ice cream. NOTE: I didn't put it in the freezer and it worked fine...was very moist.

EXCELLENT marinade. The soy sauce is the key I think. It's not traditional (garlic really isn't either) but it WORKS. (PS, I live in Greece.)

Ginger Turkey Stir-Fry

It was OK...but I wouldn't make it again. My husband hated it...even refused to eat it. I think it might have something to do with the honey in the sauce. I can't see anything else that would give it such an odd flavor.

Dressing for Potato Salad

Great dressing! I used thick, strained yogurt instead of sour cream...and 1.4 cup minced onion. It tasted so good I was eating it with a spoon!
