Would have been a 6 star if my kids had eaten it ;-) I've never had a sauerkraut dish where the kraut was so mild. This combination made the kraut scrumptious and not quite so overwhelming or over powering as the usual way I've had sauerkraut. I did forget to sprinkle the bacon on it, but it was still yummy. My husband loved it, but my young kids tolerated it. They don't like cooked cabbage in any form.

Best Tuna Casserole

I omitted the peas and mushrooms and used homemade cream of chicken soup instead. I also didn't drain the tuna. Oops! I didn't follow the recipe very well did I. But it was scrumptious! The whole family gobbled it up.

Snow Ice Cream II

I'm almost embarrassed to admit I had to look up a recipe for snowcream... But I appreciate this being available. I only did half the sugar and wished I had done even less. Maybe our snow was a lot fluffier than Lil'MadSavy's. Anyway, I appreciate the help. My kids LOVED it (Had to instruct my 6 yr old that, no, we don't lick the kitchen floor - ever! Even if your snowcream does drip a little on it. Eww!)

Spinach Veggie Casserole

There was a little too much spinach, and the corn seemed out of place. It also was a little flavorless, and I even added extra cheese. Edible, but not wonderful.

Homemade Grape Nuts

The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is that it's not quite as crunch as the store bought, but I do think it tastes better. When I made this I only used 1 1/2 c sugar, added some molasses (maybe why it wasn't as crunchy?) and stevia. It was very sweet and I'm pretty sure I didn't over substitute sweeteners. I would recommend only putting this in two 9 x 13 pans to bake. Some of mine was spread very thin and baked up crispy (some even burnt) and when I went to blend it up it easily turned to powder. The parts that were thicker and "softer" easily blended into grape nut size pieces.

Indiana-Style Corn Dogs

Very good - but then homemade corn dogs are always delicious! Nice and thick batter that was pretty easy to work with. My husband and kids LOVED them.

Eggnog II

The flavor was great (especially with a cinnamon sprinkled on top!) I was looking for a recipe like my mom made when we were growing up, but being pregnant wanted something without raw eggs. Cooking the eggs worked good (Thanks for the recommendation to strain the eggs.) , but the finished product was way too thick! Don't whip up the cream. Maybe I whipped it up too much... but when I drank it it made me feel bloated. Go easy on the whipping and it might be great.

Tuna Pita Melts

This was tasty, but I didn't like the tomato in them. It made them too moist. I would also salt the tomatoes before putting them in - I like my tomatos with salt.

Egg Salad Sandwich1

Pretty good. I doubled the mayo and mustard (using regular mustard) and used dried dill. My husband said it was better than what I usually make ... which isn't saying too much ;-) It was a good way to get some veggies in our lunch.

Lamb Chops with Balsamic Reduction

Wonderful flavors! It was very easy and my husband loved it. I used dry minced onion instead of shallots and had to thicken the sauce with 2 tsp. of flour. Also, you could use this recipe on almost any cut of meat.

Peach Cobbler III

This is a promising recipe but is lacking flavor. It was too bready, but maybe doubling the peaches would solve that problem. Also the peaches were a little bland. (Maybe because I used canned.) Maybe a little lemon juice would give it some "kick."
